Publisher's Summary

From a premier fantasist and author of the Riftwar Legacy comes the first installment in an much-anticipated new series....

“Feist has a natural talent for keeping the reader turning the pages.” (Chicago Sun-Times)

From the New York Times best-selling author comes a thrilling new epic of adventure and deceit set in his signature world of Midkemia. In a distant land, high among the snow-capped mountains, a peaceful nation is mercilessly put to the sword...yet one will survive. Little more than a boy, Talon of the Silver Hawk must carry on until, someday, he can take vengeance.

Leaving the icy fastness of his ancient home, Talon descends into the dangerous land of his adversary. Treading a perilous path, he must survive battlefields, court intrigues, treacherous enemies, backstabbing friends, and beautiful yet deadly women to discover the evil responsible for the annihilation of his people.

Can't finish

This is the 1st time that I have never been able to finish one of these books Peter Joyce could probably be good reading Winnie the pooh or paddington bear. The voices for some of the main characters who makes him sound like a female the females he makes sound male. Peter Joyce could probably be very good at other things by reading a Raymond E. Feist books he is not good at he can't say any of the names correct um over all this the terrible terrible book II love the book itself I've read it personally several times. Peter Joyce absolutely murders this book I will be returning the other 2 in the series as well.

The 1 book that started it.

I read this book years ago and it was the first book I’ve read from REF but the one that propelled me into his many sagas of books. The character is someone you are drawn into as his trials and evolution is something you hold your breath for. Anyway that’s all I’ll say about it cause I don’t wanna type anymore.

Begin with Magician Apprentice/Master

Talon of the Silver Hawk is an excellent continuation of the story started many books ago. Introducing new characters and making you care for them as you learn of older characters and how they fared. If you are new to the series please begin with Magician Apprentice and enjoy the deep and rich story as it develops.

Wonderful book

Great story and I was truly invested in the protagonist. I won't say that ever move was original, But I listen to books 15 minutes at a time and this one certainly had me sitting in my car in the driveway waiting for the end of the chapter. I read the original series on paperback many years ago and now I am downloading it to listen to it.

Not great narration

Great story, narration is very robotic sounding at times. Far from meeting quality of story he's reading
