Publisher's Summary

Thea Landry has always known her place in modern-day society. It's somewhere just above the trash can her mother dumped her in as a newborn, but below the class where much comes easy. With her tattered shoes and bargain-bin clothes, her life has never been full of glamour.

So when a rich and charismatic man takes interest, she doesn't fool herself into thinking their encounter is anything more than a one-night stand. Months later, she's kicking herself for not getting his phone number. Or his last name. She's given up hope of seeing him ever again.

Until one day, years later, Logan Kendrick waltzes into her life once more and turns everything she's built upside down. This time around, she won't make the same mistake. She's going to fight to keep him in her life - not for herself.

But for their daughter.

I love the "new" dad relationship with his child trope. I fall in love every time listening to a man fall in love with his child. Thea & Logan have great chemistry from the beginning of this book. She is a hard working, strong loving single mom who lives a small town life and he is a business man from the big city who has a heart of gold and doesn't take forever to figure out what he needs to do. Loved the characters but for me Logan stole the show in this one. He was on point throughout the story, never really "screwing" up with his new family or causing misunderstandings which is a big plus for me. He knows right away what he wants and just takes a little time figuring out how to make it work. The epilogue was great, I always love getting a glimpse of what will become of the couple after the story ends.

The narration was great, both narrators were cast perfectly. Maxine Mitchell's voice is usually a little uppity for small town girls but she really did bring Thea to life in this one.
Aaron Shedlock is a favorite of mine and I have to say I loved hearing him as the good guy, he really does great with the emotional scenes and that's exactly what Logan was with his family.

I can't stand the Heroine

Thea is the worst kind of head case. she also a hypocrite and unfair to Logan. He found out he was a father 24 hours ago and shes pissed that he didn't end his career and stay with her. She says she wants the best for her daughter yet when Logan offers her the world she wants him to abandon his million dollar job to what? live in the mountains and run a bar with her? she's hella unreasonable and she's also a smoker (which was a huge turnoff)

All.The.Stars

All.The.Stars. This book deserves every star! But let’s be honest, every Devney Perry book deserves all the stars! Her writing is pure magic. I fell in love with these characters and never wanted this story to end. Logan was the stuff dreams were made of. Hearing how he was with Charlie melted a place in my heart. I just can’t get enough of this author and her books!

If you’re an audio fan, definitely check out any of her books in audio - you won’t be disappointed!

Uncompromising Thea

I didn’t care too much for Thea. I thought she was selfish. I would have preferred her to be more compromising. Obviously the story ended happily but it was mainly due to Logan giving up who he was to make Thea happy. I don’t know if I’ll listen to the series based on this story.

Love this story!!!!

I absolutely loved this book!! I read it when it first came out and I couldn't wait for it to be available in Audible, however although I normally love Maxine Mitchell, I hated her on this one. Thea has been through a lot of stuff in her life, and although tough, she definitely is vulnerable. Maxine made her sound whiny and desperate through the whole thing. Aaron Shedlock was great though, and since I had already read and re-read this one, I was able to skip through Maxine's chapters. This book is so worth the credit!! Deveny Perry has created an amazing story with likeable characters.

What a great start to this series. Great narration

Well, Devney is a new author to me and people, WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!! Under a rock, that’s where. I love her writing style. It’s reminiscent of A.L. Jackson and Catherine Cowles. A little bit of suspense, a lot of plot, some delicious spice, cool grannies, a cute kid and a small town.

A chance encounter 6 years or so ago leaves Thea pregnant with no way of finding Logan to let him know. Well, fate is on their side and throws them together with a little helping hand from a lovely old lady. Their chemistry is still there, but they now have to navigate a new type of family, and it’s not without its bumps and bruises. Thea finds it hard to trust after the monumental amount of people in her past who’ve let her down, but Logan is determined to be the exception to that rule. He takes some time to work out his priorities but in the end Charlie and Thea are it for him. There’s a little bit of suspense and I really enjoyed that element too.

Devney writes a story with relatable characters in believable situations. I loved how complex and multifaceted Thea and Logan were and enjoyed being introduced to some of the side characters too. I fell in love with her writing and this book and it didn’t hurt that there was some nice spice too.

It’s been a while since I’ve listened to Maxine, but every time I do I’m reminded of what a high calibre voice actor she is. Easily flipping between multiple voices, putting you in the thick of it as if there were 3 or more people voicing the characters. She’s also really good at conveying emotions. Stellar narration once again. Aaron was great as Logan. You really felt how torn he was between his work and his family. We are shown the protective alpha but also the insecure new father, and Aaron really brings Logan to life just perfectly. A great pairing for this fantastic audiobook.

I loved this story and can’t wait to dive into more from this series. I think Jackson’s book is going to be a good one for sure.

I'm in love with Lark Cove!!

I absolutely adored Tattered by the end. It was an earned love though. There were too many times where I wanted to shake Logan. The idea that Thea would just up and leave Montana because he could "make" her love New York again really irked me. I get it, he didn't know her history or the reasons behind why she didn't want to leave but he saw the signs. Logan saw the looks and the mood changes that overcame Thea with the comments. He was too absorbed in work and the idea of the life that they could have had instead of the life that was in Montana waiting for him.

Thea was a bit unnerving at times all on her own though. She had waited years for this man only to lock up and close herself off whenever he was close. I get it babe; you have a past full of hurt but seriously let me someone in every now and then.

Aaron Shedlock is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators. The way his voice can go deep and delicious just really hits the spot. Maxine Mitchell does such a good job at her male narrations she is probably one of the few female narrators I don't mind doing male voices. Seriously, go for the audio. It is completely worth it.

Everything else about this book really was sweet contemporary romance perfection!! Logan ended up winning my heart even before I realized it. Even with his flaws he still tried his hardest to give Thea and Charlie the life he thought that they deserved.

Looking forward to Willa & Jackson's book. I hope she makes him grovel just a touch more than necessary.

Loved this story!!!

Thea and Logan's story is second chance romance at its best. These two had one night together years before, but life happened and they never saw each other again until years later where fate put them in each other's path again. This story was written with so much feeling and emotion. I felt their pain and loved how they found each other. Logan is the perfect book boyfriend and I fell in love with him. I might have to fight Thea for him! This was an amazing story. Loved it!

The narrators had me falling in love every bit of the way. They did a great job bringing this story to life!

Can Love conquer all.

Devney’s books always keeps me hooked but this one had me putting everything on hold so I could listen more.
I found Logan, Thea and Charlie’s story heartwarming and wonderful. But Charlie definitely stole the show for me.
The narrators did a fabulous job with this book.

A HEARTWARMING STORY

4.5 stars

What a beautiful and heartwarming story.

A second chance surprise baby romance with all the feels. My fist Devney Perry experience and already I can't wait to read more from this author. Denvey writes journeys and I love that.

Tattered is the story of Thea and Logan who meet at a bar where she works and they have a one night stand. They have a night that had real connection and unforgettable night in more ways than one. Logan is a workaholic, hes rich and has a lot of responsibility and even though Logan returned weeks as soon as he could he left it too late and he never found found Thea. Thea had moved on and all he was left with was memories.

Thea had become pregnant from her one night stand and didn't even know Logan's last name. Thea had a sad childhood living in care homes, she never felt loved or felt like she belonged and when she was older she had been take in by an amazing woman named Hazel who treated her as her own along with Jackson another boy from the home. Thea had Jackson and Hazel who all became a family and the three of them ran a bar and raised Charlie when she came along. Thea finally felt loved and like she belonged somewhere until Logan unexpectedly and accidentally came back in to her life when he walked into her bar after a business meeting, the man who had given her an amazing daughter became the victim of miraculous and wonderful fate.

Logan didn't even know he had a daughter, Logan was shocked and also relieved to finally find Thea again after 6 years of wondering, this became a journey of getting to know each other and from their new beginning blossomed a heartwarming love story.

Heartwarming, charming, hot in all the right places and leads to a hea.

I listened to Tattered in audio which was brilliantly narrated and I will either listen or read more, at this point I just want more books from this author.

3.5 stars - Good listen

Enjoyed this, though it was a little flat at times and it didn’t sweep me away as much as some books. Still a good solid story though.
