Publisher's Summary

Would YOU love a monster girl?

Tony Platz had the respect of his peers, a career on the fast track, and the body of an Olympian. There was only one problem: It was an open secret he carried a torch for his already-married partner. When a raid put her in the hospital and finally exposed her husband's ongoing infidelity, Tony got shipped out to Oolytau to keep him from doing something that wouldn't just end his career. As weeks turned into months, it became apparent the last person his crush wanted to see was the one man who could say "I told you so", and his future prospects with the NHIC looked grim.

Tayra Manes had a dream. She worked hard, graduated the academy, and became the first of her kind to join the Non-Human Investigative Corps. There was only one problem: She was a griffin, and not everyone approved of her being allowed to serve in the previously all-human NHIC. Within 24 hours of her assignment to Oolytau, she had a bounty on her head, no place to call home, and a new partner.

As a simple apartment hunt turned into a deadly game of cat and mouse, their problems multiplied as Tayra realized Tony might just be the dream she'd come to the city to find, and Tony found himself making the same mistake twice.

Cebelius keeps getting better

I've been listening to Cebelius' books on and off for over a year and I'm happy with the stories but over the time it's my opinion his writing has gotten better and better.

Absolutely Loved it!

at the beginning I was expecting smut or some erotica. but I wonderfully surprised.

It's a Buddy Cop adventure with action and mystery.
the world is believable in It's fantasy setting. the relationship, was so charming with a slow burn and a very satisfying conclusion.

best of all the Voice acting honestly sold it for me. the voice work gave the story so much more flavor with the acting bounce back between the 2 voices when needed. I felt such strong emotions and ended up care so much Tony and Tayra. The whole loving a person for them and not their looks struck my heart.

100% recommend, give it a chance

I love this

I love this book and its series. That ending is not what I wanted though.

Good book, recycled plot.

The performances were as amazing as the first book, though the resolution of the plot was a bit too similar to book 1. I know the author has an overarching plot between books, which is fine, but I wouldn't mind a bit of a break from the theme of corruption to maybe tackle a serial killer, or something not involved directly with the NHIC to flesh things out a bit more setting-wise.

Another issue I had was that Tony, at the beginning of the book, was suppose to have this dislike of non-humans (I still prefer the term "demi-humans"), but he didn't once seem to dislike anything other that the first chapter of him getting over being partnered with one. Bremen from the first book put up more resistance against Valise.

Other than all that, not a bad book at all. I enjoyed Tayra's character, I found her adorable, strong, but also sympathetic and vulnerable. Tony is a good man, a bit of a meat head, but certainly not an idiot. I want to know more about Grace though, I know she wasn't a huge character, but she was attractive, and her loneliness makes me want to see a resolution to her story. That, and the Gargoyles animated series gave me something of a fetish for gargoyle girls.

At any rate I am looking forward to the next book, I'm interested in perhaps knowing more about this infamous succubus that sued the city.

Needed a bit more.

The performance: there were two lines that I could not make out, one by each performer. Jessica was a bit bright and her mixing level was hot, loud, compaired to Christopher's. I adjusted the volume depending on the who was reading lines at the time. Some parts were balanced better than others.
IMHO The story would have benefited with another 50 pages tearing down the MC attitude, remember in book 1 the MC had a real problem with Monsters here he is starting from more of a neutral position; And more relationship building. A few humorous incidents. jabs, you know partner pranks, like an unmarked container of short bread in the refrigerator.

wonderful!

absolutely loved it! the character growth and narrator all did a fantastic job not only keeping me invested but thoroughly enjoying the book from start to finish. it truly felt like one of the classic 90's cop/detective stories with just a touch of believable fantasy

same story as the first book but with a bird.

After how good the last one was I was looking forward to this book but to my disappointment it turned out to be the exact same story.

*spoilers*

chance meeting with a demi human that was threatened by random muggers. muggers then spend the entire book sending random assassins to kill said demi human for mundane reasons.

The author couldn't come up with a different story line... no deviation, it's the exact same story but with a bird. except it's in the same universe and it doesn't end with the mc becoming the mayor.

another great monster girl romance

so book two has more sex in it, but fits the woman's culture and species. Listening to her try to fit in while managing her urges is awesome.i will be going to the authors Facebook page to push for a book 3.

Really good voice acting

The voice acting combined with this story and world building puts this audio book amongst the best in my collection for this genre. Good job to all involved with this production.

A really good story

This is a continuation of a series. This is the second book with this one starting the back round for the series.

Must admit I was was put off by what I perceived the story to be. After listening to the the book I was very pleased with the story. The characters were well built and easily made the story. There were parts I had to listen to several times to catch what was happening. I really love this story!

The narrators really brought the book to life and did a fantastic job with the book. I hope they continue to do the narration for the series. They made the characters come to life and gave feelings to the characters.

Both the author along with the narrators did an excellent job!

The only thing I can do is give it a 5***** rating.

Well done!

Quirky, Romantic, Funny and just a little Raunchy.

Loving this series so far, The world-building going on in the background has made me curious for more but I'm loving the relationships being explored and developed. Great narration too! Christopher and Jessica are awesome
