Publisher's Summary

The disciples of the Machine God, the Cult Mechanicus are on the front line of the Quest for Knowledge. Tech-priests lead their forces of augmented warriors and battle-automata into battle with the Omnissiah's foes in defence of His secrets. Magos-Explorator Omnid Torquora orchestrates war against the Iron Warriors for control of a long-lost forge world. With skitarii legions and maniples of battle-servitors and robots at his command - not to mention the mighty god-machines of the Titan Legions - victory is within his grasp until treachery threatens to end his dreams of conquest.

Very enjoyable

i very much enjoyed this title, and the first book was awesome as well.

i would recommend these two books to anybody that loves warhammer 40k. I'd even suggest it to non-40k fans also.

Can’t believe they did my boi Stroika like that

Some times it really do be like that.

Other than that pretty decent book that is the other side of the coin compared to Skitarius.

A Good Listen Overall

Weak start, especially since it disconnects the reader from the Stroika Unit they followed through Skitarius. However, enjoyable in the long term the reader will grow to like Omnid if they give him time. An likeable enough character arc.

The reader does a fantastic job, carrying a sometimes bogged down story.

A few issues, but Praise the Omniessiah!

Better than the first book but still pretty average compared to other 40k books. Separating it into 2 books does hurt the overall narrative especially if someone only reads the first book.

The best part of both books is the fights! what it lacks in narrative complexity and really deep moments, it makes up for in action packed thrilling combat! Sanders does a great job using the Admech arsenal to create some of the most memorable action sequences in the Black Library! You really feel the terrifying power a single Skittarius or a blessed Tech Priest wields. While also showing how they forces of the Omniessiah wage war.

Despite the pretty linear story, some what repetitive descriptions and a few audio issues this series is great for anyone who loves the Admech or wants to get into the faction!

Excellent for fans already invested in Mechanicus

As someone who has read and listened to quite a bit of lore and as someone who owns this army on the tabletop I personally quite liked this one. However if you're more of a space marine fan or enjoy more down to earth human storylines you will be found wanting with this particular piece due to it taking it's time to get started and its main character showing very little humanity till about half way through. Other than that it's a solid piece.

Great expansion about the adeptus mechanics

Another great listen with excellent plot and characters. This was an exciting story to listen to again brought to life by masterful oration.

Ad Mech goodness.

I enjoyed it as back ground listening while painting the real thing. Storyline wasn't the strongest I've come across but it gave you a very good idea as to how they operate and communicate. voice acting was ok. not the worst but certainly not the best...a worthy listen...if your desperate for a good listen to spend your credit on though...this probably isn't it.

slooow start

well performed, but the story is painfully slow yet the book is actually quite short. a little concerned that this and skitarius were originally one book then burtchered into 2 books. everything happens at the end, which is a good ending but pacing seems off. Ok if you have lots of spare credits but there are a lot of better books out there

Absolute must for people wanting to experience adm

Amazing continuation of the story from Skitarius, twists and turns were all well executed with nothing feeling like a cheap and easy way out. As always the VA was brilliant. Great way to see the difference between the adeptus mechanicus and the mechanicum of the heresy era books. Great listen.

Good admech bolter porn, lacking depth

I thoroughly enjoyed the first in this series and had high hopes for this the second installment, it was enjoyable but lacked the subtleties of the first. The fight scenes left little space for much else which was a pity. still would recommend to diehard admech fans.

Striker deserved a better ending.

awesome story but man did they waste character developmennt on striker. I get that the writer wanted to make him into a terrifying weapon but by lobotomyzing striker they took all individuality from him making him a slave. so he never got the chance to find faith again or to truly get revenge on the ironhands commander.
i would have liked alot to see him become a ruststalker as it would also be quite poetic when he would eventually face the ironhands commander in battle since their original battle started with him killing his rustalker "friend"/ally in the book skitarius. overall liked the book but not quite satisfied with the ending.
however the reading audiotrack was exelent and I loved how he was not hesitant to speak in silly robotic voices.
