In Dimensions, Dr. Jacques Vallee reexamines the historical record that led to the modern UFO phenomenon and to the belief in alien contact. He then tackles the enigma of abduction reports, which come from various times and various countries, as well as the psychic and spiritual components of the contact experience. In the last portion of the book, he notes the factors that inhibit research into the phenomenon - the triple coverup and political motivations - and concludes that the extraterrestrial theory is simply not strange enough to explain the facts.

Do intuitive hunches contain information about future events? Is it possible to perceive without the use of the ordinary senses? Publisher's Summary
Decorated army officer Major Ed Dames tells the shocking true story of his time asoperations and training officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency's top-secret Psychic Intelligence Unit. Together with his PSI Spyteam, Dames used the practice of remote viewing to uncover accurate and verifiable military intelligence by going where no intel operatives on the ground could go -- into the very mind of the enemy.
After retiring from the military, he turned his paranormal detective skills to finding missing persons such as millionaire pilot Steve Fossett, whose plane vanished in Nevada, and a young Colorado girl named Christina White, who disappeared seemingly without a trace. He has even located one of the most legendary missing objects in history, the Ark of the Covenant.
In Tell Me What You See, cosmic Columbo Major Ed Dames takes you behind the scenes of some of his most mind-bending cases. He reveals true stories and fascinating secrets uncovered by the military's remote viewing teams--from intelligence on Soviet missile sites to the whereabouts of missing POWs in Vietnam to the location of the Ark of the Covenant.
Maj. Dames is the most popular guest on George Noory's exceedingly popular radio show Coast to Coast AM. For anyone fascinated by the intersection of the military and the mysterious, Tell Me What You See is an amazing and completely absorbing must-read.

There were some intriguing details but the author's ego kept getting in the way, like he had a continuous need to beat his chest about how exceptional he is. Whatever. Let's get back to the story. I still recommend it.

Interesting, but...spend your credit elsewhere
The information is a rehash of other Remote Viewing books better told elsewhere. This title has some value but you need to overlook the massive ego. If you were to take the issues at face value Dames personally saved the world from the Soviet communist threat (Really? I thought there were a few others involved), was a "water-walker" (hmm, but still a major when he retired), had the ear of the president (his words) though he says he never communicated with any president (again, his words...maybe he just forgot), and the list goes on. Frankly, he does a disservice to his colleagues and the military in general because we only needed hin, and his analysis, to solve any world problem. Read McMoneagle or Morehouse for more objective and in-depth discussion of RV.

The author thinks quite highly of himself!
This is really a long book with little useful content on RV and seems more like his self-amused unverifiable bragging rights.
You should expect about 8 hours of the following: " .. they are so happy to work with ME!"
"... something only I can do."
"...I'm the best Remote Viewer iin the world."
"... Ya, I also single-handedly saved he planet from total disaster more than once... actually quite often, but it's all in a days work, so NP, I do all the time... after a while you get used to it.
I also did RV while in the military for a few demonstrations at Norton AFB, CA between 1984-1991. My experience was quite different and less grandiose. ;-(
The audio quality and narration are both excellent as is the editorial work and proofing.
You may find this book enjoyable is you're interested in a minuscule overview of the RV process, but like one-man hero stories
Now, to be fair and balanced- Ed offers a very decent basic RV training program at his website, which I have sent many people to, and do fully recommend for anyone desiring to get started in a useful and functional method.
It is complete enough that you will become proficient in a matter of weeks to start exploring other RV methods and modalities on your own.
FWIW... A word of caution-
There really are no walls, nor secrets that cannot easily be made known. YES, people can read your mind like an open book. YES, people know know your exact thoughts. YES expensive locks and/or safes cannot keep a good operator from seeing inside and knowing the full contents therein...and more!
HOWEVER, there is a little caveat to all this "snooping around." There are often quite powerful and destructive defenses around certain targets (people and property) that are not kind to prying eyes.
Don't go where you don't belong and don't bite off more than you can chew.
Be careful and be wise!
Cheers

Interesting but...
It doesn't seem like you get any actual information or proof, much less predictions about the future. It still seems a bit scifi, and surprising that if this is actually going on, that the government allows him to talk about it. I was really looking forward to this one, and disappointed that there wasn't much resolve.

Good story, but in weird order
This book seems to be written like the movie pulp fiction, it seems like the Major would tell a story about one thing, then move to a time before that, before finishing the story at a later time... also there was one bad edit, where words were repeated... I was really looking for more of a how to book than a this is what I’ve done book, however I would still buy it again...

Interesting material, less interesting personality
Loved the material presented here. I was familiar with much of it already. Really, I have only 2 complaints: 1. The book did seem to jump around a bit so there were times I had a hard time following it, and 2. toward the half-way point, I started to see things in Maj Dames' personality that I found personally abrasive. I understand based on his description of his early life why those elements came out in his personality but it soured me a little on the book and made it hard to root for him when he was fighting for his career or goals.

shows the public how screwed up the Army really is
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
yes I do. I am retired military and was tested for this job but bowed out due to a supervisor I had
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
standard military crap. jealousy rules the military and its like the boy scouts only lacks adult supervision
Have you listened to any of Stephen Bowlby’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
yes. I think a little more emotions would have helped but its good book
Did Tell Me What You See inspire you to do anything?
I actually already do this.
Any additional comments?

Absolutely gripping and exciting.
This book is absolutely fantastic. In paper form it would certainly be dubbed 'a page turner', in the audiobook format you will find yourself rushing your routine day-to-day tasks just to get back to the book and see what happens next.
It is full of excitement and drama, it has you on the edge of your seat eagerly listening so you don’t miss any detail. I would probably go as far as to say this is the most exciting book I’ve ever listened to.
With such a plethora of ‘targets’ each chapter is somewhat unique so there should be something here for everyone to get excited about provided you have an interest in the topic.
Of course sceptics will most likely not like the book but then again what do sceptics ever like? They barely like themselves if we are being honest.
A word of note, this book does not in any way tell you how to remote view. This is not a training exercise, there are no tips, not even a basic path to follow into remote viewing. This is very simply the memoirs of someone who has been there and done it, been surrounded by some of the best and also trained some of the best along his journey. He is very honest about charlatans around the genre and advises extreme caution taking any advice from anyone without a credible record that can be checked. Thankfully the credentials of the author are there for anyone to check with a quick search engine search.
My only drawback of the entire audiobook and believe me it is difficult to over come; is the voice of the person chosen to narrate it. This is at the end of the day a somewhat taboo and sceptical subject, as humans our natural inclination is to doubt and as a result any slight blip on the radar of doubt causes us to make a definitive appraisal of the subject and walk away from it.
Having seen videos of many of these men who were trained using the US secret project I can confidently say that they all have very similar demeanours and characters. They are relaxed, articulate, professional and intellectual. They were after all Army Intelligence Officers, not grunts or jar heads. They are never dramatic, they are never over the top, they are direct and straight to the point in question, this is what you need to know and here is the information take from it what and how you want type thing. They never try to convince or dramatise or anything else along those lines. They don’t need to sell it, they know it to be true, what you take from it and how you perceive it is your on prerogative.
The narrators voice in this however is exactly like the dubbed voice that plays in movie theatres all across the western world when they are showing you trailers of upcoming movies. Every time I hear his voice it’s the over the top, overly dramatic, heavily American ‘coming to a cinema near you’ voice. Oh boy...does it grind. It is extremely difficult to overcome and get past, he attempts at every opportunity to bring this dramatic voice to a book and subject that need no drama; they are already exciting enough.
I feel this very strongly undermines the book because from the off it gives an immediate feel of scepticism. There is just absolutely no need. The guy would be perfect for a book about Delta guys in the first or second Gulf wars or storming through those types of theatres of war, in this book however, he is like a lost child who has wondered into an empty theatre.
