Publisher's Summary

Devaney Diamond's summer is shaping up to be the best one ever. Her longtime crush is finally interested.

Just when their relationship is getting started, she finds out she's leaving on a three-week vacation. She's not thrilled about being gone for that long, but she is looking forward to spending time doing nothing but getting a killer tan and hanging out with her lifelong best friend, Chase.

Chase is cute and sweet. Smart and responsible. And he's always there when she needs him. If it wasn't for their age difference, things might be different between them.

But when Chase returns home from football camp with new muscles and a new attitude, Devaney realizes something.... Chase Mackenzie is hot.

Will this be the summer Devaney and Chase fall in love, or will it be the summer when everything falls apart?

Awesome series

The only thing I dislike is that the next book isn’t offered on audible. Only kindle or paperback. I hope it’s offered here soon.

Great Read

That Summer (That Boy #6) was a great read by Jillian Dodd. Devaney Diamond is hoping to have the best summer ever and her longtime crush seems to be finally interested in her. Just as things start up, she finds out that she is going on a three week vacation. She is looking forward to spending time getting a tan and hanging out with her lifelong best friend, Chase. He's always there for her, if it wasn't for their age difference they could maybe be together. She realizes that Chase is hot on their vacation. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

So hooked

I started this entire series back when I was still a book blogger, and I finally came back to it. Devaney is so like her father, but also got so much influence from her mother and it’s so hard listen when all you want to do is hug her. This is fiction, yet I’m so incredibly invested in all of their lives! Jillian did such an amazing job of drawing me in from That Boy through this book, and that’s an absolute feat. Bravo!

Love this series & can’t wait for another book!

I really enjoy how Jillian utilizes more than one narrator. She is a great storyteller and I love the character development. There are just enough secondary characters to help with the flow. I would love to read about Jennifer’s wedding and first pregnancy. I am also excited to see how Chase & Dani’s story will unfold along with Damon & Hailey.

Don’t waste time or money

It was all just terrible. Too much detail about what everyone in every scene was doing. I felt like it was being read by a junior high student during class. Very monotone and hard to listen to.

Did not want it to end!

I grew up in the Ozarks so I got really tickled listening to Devany describe “going to the Ozarks”. I was not ready for this one to end. Ready to see where this relationship is headed

Not for me

I loved the Jillian Dodd "That Boy" series and was happy to see this new entry. The story of the kids is not
as appealing to me as the stories of their parents. I admit I did not finish the book. The story did not grab me
and the narrator's young girl voice was not as much fun and the narrators of her other books.

Fun escape from reality

I’ve listened to all the books in this series and they are an easy, fun listen. This one was just as fun and I liked that it was from a new generation’s perspective.
