Publisher's Summary

"A bold and expertly plotted page-turner." (Courtney Summers, New York Times best-selling author of Sadie)

From the author of The Cheerleaders comes a thriller about best friends on a weekend getaway that goes horribly, dangerously wrong.

Three best friends, a lake house, a secret trip - what could go wrong?

It was supposed to be the perfect prom weekend getaway. But it's clear something terrible happened when Claire wakes up alone and bloodied on a hiking trail with no memory of the past 48 hours.

Now everyone wants answers - most of all, Claire. She remembers Friday night, but, after that...nothing. And now Kat and Jesse - her best friends - are missing.

What happened on the mountain? And where are Kat and Jesse? Claire knows the answers are buried somewhere in her memory. But as she's learning, everyone has secrets - even her best friends. And she's pretty sure she's not going to like what she remembers.

Critic Reviews

"Kara Thomas is ruthless. When you descend into That Weekend, prepare for darkness ahead, breakneck turns, and shivery secrets. I am still reeling." (Kit Frick, author of I Killed Zoe Spanos)

"Quick-fire pacing, sharpened dialogue, and clever reveals make for an addictive read.” (Publishers Weekly)

"A deliciously unsettling and grimly beautiful examination of the dark and twisted potential lurking within us all. That Weekend is a bold and expertly plotted page-turner from beginning to end, and firmly cements Kara Thomas as a master of the craft - no one writes a thriller like her." (Courtney Summers, New York Times best-selling author of Sadie)

Give me more!

Kara never disappoints. It’s morning and I’m still up because I had to find out what happens. She has a unique way of weaving together a story that’s very layered and never predictable. You feel like you’re along for the ride figuring it out as Claire does and admiring her wit. Also, Phoebe is my favorite narrator. The other was great too.

Great twists and turns you don’t see coming

At first I wasn’t sure I would finish the book. It starts a little slow. Once it gets about half way in you can’t stop listening.
I love all the plot twists and turns. You don’t see them coming. I almost stopped the book towards the end thinking it was over and I the rest would be fluff but I was wrong!!! Definitely read till the end. The plot twist go right to the end!

Mysterious and Shocking

What starts as a mysterious story of guilt, grief, and betrayal turns into a twisted and explosive journey. Without giving anything away I can say with certainty that this book will leave you with your jaw on the floor. Full of characters that are rich and lush you’ll find yourself on the edge of each chapter. This is a book you will enjoy. The ending will leave you speechless.
