Most of us believe that we will finally feel satisfied and content with our lives when we get the good news we have been waiting for, find a healthy relationship, or achieve one of our personal goals. However, this rarely happens. Good fortune is often followed by negative emotions that overtake us and result in destructive behaviors.

Publisher's Summary
You'll never see leadership the same way again after reading this book.
These 15 commitments are a distillation of decades of work with CEOs and other leaders. They are radical or provocative for many. They have been game changers for us and for our clients. We trust they will be for you, too.
Our experience is that unconscious leadership is not sustainable. It won't work for you, your team, or your organization in the long term. Unconscious leadership can deliver short-term results, but the costs of living and leading unconsciously are great.
Fear drives most leaders to make choices that are at odds with healthy relationships, vitality, and balance. This fear leaves a toxic residue that won't be as easily tolerated in an increasingly complex business environment.
Conscious leadership offers the antidote to fear. These pages contain a comprehensive road map to guide you to shift from fear-based to trust-based leadership. Once you learn and start practicing conscious leadership, you'll get results in the form of more energy, clarity, focus, and healthier relationships. You'll do more and more of what you are passionate about and less of what you do out of obligation. Your team will get results as well. Drama and gossip will all but disappear, and the energy and resources that fueled them will be redirected towardsinnovation and creativity.
Any one of these commitments will change your life. All of them together are revolutionary.
What do you need to bring to the table?
Be curious.
Sounds so simple, yet in our experience it's a skill few have mastered. Most of us are far more interested in being right and proving it than we are in learning, growing, and shifting out of our old patterns. By default we gravitate toward the familiar. We're asking you to take a chance and explore the unfamiliar.

Great concepts
I love the concepts of the book. they are all true in my opinion. My concern is that 15 commitments is overwhelming. I can't remember all my kids names! so keeping 15 commitments on my radar is going to be hard. I am not a fan of using the most extreme examples either. I can't relate to a business leader that doesn't answer calls or take meetings until 10:00 am. Nice thought, but I would like to know the industry where that has relevance and can be applied.

Sustainable Success
The 15 Commitments is a great leadership book that I can stack over other leadership styles. What's great about this in particular is that some organizations may see visible success, but it is not sustainable. This book helps to iron that out.
The performance was good, especially since the author is the one narrating the book, but an updated recording with a better mic/setup would be nice as I can often hear the speaker breathing or licking his lips.

Overly theoretical and impractical
15 rules to follow, while actually there are only 3 main rules and then 12 exceptions that are needed in order to patch all the holes in the first 3 rules. Overall very impractical book to be used in day to day with a few exceptions where the authors are just starting something that’s very obvious.

More than the title suggests
I have listened to this audiobook now more than three times and I digest a lot of this genre. This is not a cheesy leadership book and a more fitting title would be "15 Commitments of the Conscious Self". You will hear many good strategies for leadership in the conventional meaning of the word but more important are the takeaways for self leadership. My favourites were the chapters on candor and integrity, which have both nudged me in directions with significant immediate payoffs in the way I feel about myself. I was directed to it from a Tim Ferris interview with Jim in which he shares his personal story, which is itself amazing and I'd encourage interested listeners to look it up. I'm already recommending this to friends.
