Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Patrick Lencioni unveils a truly groundbreaking new model that will change the way we think about work and teams forever.

The 6 Types of Working Genius is the fastest way to help people identify the type of work that brings them joy and energy, and avoid work that leads to frustration and burnout.

Beyond the personal discovery and instant relief that Working Genius provides, the model also gives teams a remarkably simple and practical framework for tapping into one another’s natural gifts, which increases productivity and reduces unnecessary judgment.

In classic Lencioni fashion, Pat brings his model to life in a thrilling fable that is as relatable as it is compelling. He tells the story of Bull Brooks, an entrepreneur, husband, and father who sets out to solve his own frustration at work and stumbles into a new way of thinking that changes the way he sees his work, his team, and even his marriage.

What sets this book—and the model behind it—apart from other tools and assessments is the speed at which it can be understood and applied, and the relevance it has to every kind of work in life, from running a company to launching a product to managing a family.

In addition to this book, Lencioni and the Table Group have created a 10-minute assessment that helps individuals quickly identify their gifts and apply this model to themselves and their teams. Join the hundreds of thousands of people who have already discovered their Working Genius, and experience the transformation in your work, your team, and your life.

Very nice after the long detailed story.

I enjoyed it but played it at 1.2x speed. If it hadn’t been for the great narration and voice, I may have “unfortunately” prematurely given up on it. But the last quarter is where the punch is and the previous 3 quarters are kind of needed to understand the last one 😆
Bottom line, I’m satisfied 👏🏻👍🏻

Already using the language and concepts

I have worked as a hospital pharmacist for 12 years and as a Health Economics & Outcomes Researcher for 20 years. I wish I knew then what I now know after listening to this book. I have already started to use the language and to talk about this book with colleagues. Thank you.

Pat is the best

Maaan. Every time I get a book by P. Lencioni I blow through it. Just can’t stop listening. It flows so easily and every point is connected very well. It also explained so many frustrations faced by my team. Definitely sending this one to my boss for consideration.

Couldn’t stop listening - This changed my life!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been blown away by a book. Not since the Challenger Sale or Grit or The Habit… Not only was This performance/reading done exceptionally well but the content of the Working Genius is a game changer! I’m surprised I hadn’t heard about it before. I am gonna be implementing this for our team of 6 (or 200?) - let’s hope we are well balanced in the 6 types of our natural gifts/geniuses. Thank you for the discovery JOB & thank you for sharing your findings with the world! I can’t recommend this book enough.

Very solid concepts. Didn't have to write so much.

Yes, his work genius idea is certainly a rocket that will impact only positively all parts of work and engagements with others.
But why the boring story.

TEAM EFFECTIVENESS

Another practical tool for leaders and teams from Patrick Lencioni.

In true form, this fable tells the story of how a team discovers their preferences and effectiveness if they get to play to their Geniuses.

There are 6 Geniuses and we are likely to have one or two.
I'm about to take the test to audit my predictions!

Loved this book and have already recommended to clients.
