Publisher's Summary

Atrial fibrillation strikes one in four American adults. Not only do people suffering from this condition suffer from shortness of breath, fatigue, chest discomfort, decreased ability to exercise and do activities of daily living, arrhythmia, and palpitations, but their risk of a stroke, cognitive decline and dementia, heart failure, or premature death also shoots way up.

Today, a whole new body of research - one most physicians are unaware of - shows that biomarker and lifestyle optimization may put half the cases of atrial fibrillation into remission without drugs or procedures. And for those in whom these remedies are insufficient or not tolerated, new procedures, in combination with biomarker and lifestyle optimization, may offer lifetime remission from atrial fibrillation and its devastating consequences.

In clear, accessible, patient-centric language, Drs. Day and Bunch share their revolutionary approach to treating atrial fibrillation, developed through a combined 53 years working with a-fib patients. The effectiveness of their plan has been proven through countless medical studies. And now, in The A-Fib Cure: Get Off Your Medications, Take Control of Your Health, and Add Years to Your Life, they share that plan with you.

Informative

I was miss diagnosed for ten years with my afib. Finally got it figured out and met with dr day to do my surgery. The book is extremely informative and a must read in my opinion for anyone with afib or similar heart issues. It explained so many things that I had felt but didn’t know what was going on. Highly recommend. I wish I would’ve had it 10 years ago.

THE resource for learning about A-Fib.

If you have anyone in your family that has heart issues, if you worry about this yourself and find yourself eating a western diet (so almost all of us) then this book should be required reading.

It’s both an educational book on A-Fib and a healthy lifestyle book. I have 2 brothers that have had A-Fib issues so I’m requiring all my other family members to read it. It's an easy read, and packed with information and lifestyle advice.

I’ve been a member of Audible for over 20 years. I make it through 1 out of 5 books I start. I made it through this one and plan on going through it again. The narrator does a fantastic job and the way it’s laid out holds your interest. Thank you to those that put this book together. It will be the definitive resource for those interested in learning about, dealing with, and preventing A-Fib.

For anyone with Afib/Flutter

I've had paroxysmal afib/flutter for over 6 years with cardioversion and ablation as experiences. I've done a lot of reading and this book covers all the bases. it Advocates a healthy lifestyle and a whole person approach to Afib cure. it also argues for steps to eliminate drugs as a treatment for afib. Best description I've read of the many limitations / side effects of most of the arrhythmia and rate control drugs. also goes into much detail on the risks and rewards of ablation.
A must listen for anyone who wishes to escape the quality of life trap that many folks with afib experience.

Life changing book!

Being someone that has had a fib for years, I was looking for answers. In my research to find a doctor that I trusted to do a cardio ablation I stumbled upon this book. In reading this book, it inspired me to make lifestyle changes as a start. I found significant difference in my a fib by following the council of diet and exercise.
The doctors that wrote this book are brilliant!
I was so impressed with this book, that I actually purchased several other copies and have handed them out to my associates in my life that also have a fib problems.

Surprisingly good

The title doesn’t do it justice. I have never encountered a better written, more comprehensive, medical book that was geared towards the patient. I purchased both the audiobook and the digital book. The narration of the audiobook is excellent; it enabled me to get through the volume of information much faster than I would have been able to on my own. The digital book will serve as a reference. I am grateful that the authors took the time and care to capture their experience and knowledge in such a remarkable manner.

The Beat Goes On

A very excellent book, with a perfect narration. I strongly recommend this book about an in-depth strategy to get control of your a-fib and possibly even cure it. It is written in a clear and concise manner with just enough repetition at the end of each chapter to reinforce and help the information stick in your mind. For me, I know I will listen a second time as there is a great deal of information.

It is so wonderful to know I am not alone in this battle, that others have succeeded despite it being alot of work, taking much determination, and being a huge lifestyle change. This book told me everything I wanted and needed to know about a-fib and, step by step, what to do to improve my life and live longer and tame the a-fib monster.

If you or someone you know has a-fib, it runs in your family but you don't have it yet, or even if you think you have it under control with meds, this book is for you. Very strongly recommended!

Most helpful!!

I've seen cardiologists, EPs, even a couple ER visits and no one has helped me understand this "beast" as much as this book! I'm so glad I found it on Audible! God bless you for helping us who are struggling with daily fear which effects our quality of life. I will no longer fear it but will take steps to try and make it go away or at least lessen the blow! I can have better discussions with my doctors with this knowledge! Thank you!

My cardiologist should have recommended this 2 yes ago!

Great info that’s missing in current Afib treatment. Both my cardiologist and ep should have told me about this on day 1 . U am now encouraged for a bright Afib and Med free future!

Anyone with AF should really read this book, so we

I was recommended the book by someone from the AF Forum HealthUnlocked , I am so grateful and it truly is a life changer. It is like going to see a private Cardiologist and asking all the questions you have ever wanted to and many more and getting the answers in a way you actually understand. I listened to the book and ended up walking twice as much as usual as it is so very interesting and informative.

Empowering must read for AF patients and GPs

The Afib Cure is a highly informative and helpful book that empowers patients to partner with their physicians in taking control of their health and reducing their AF episodes or putting and keeping them in remission.. Highly recommend to newly diagnosed and long term sufferers alike, and for those with a family history of atrial fibrillation who want to reduce their chances of developing the disorder.by making and monitoring lifestyle changes rather than taking medication.

Liberating, inspiring and educational

First the shock "no, not me, impossible". Then the despair, the feeling of being given a life sentence from which there seemed no escape. When I asked the cardiac specialists in the hospital what were the alternatives to these rather undesirable medications I was told "take them or I'll be seeing you in the not too distant future in a wheelchair" (addressing the risk of stroke). Mortified I cried all night, I'd just become a grandmother for the first time, how could this be happening, I was an active, pretty healthy (slightly above average good health), lover of life woman. On returning home I went straight to Dr Google to research whatever I could on AFib - found 'The A-Fib Cure' and downloaded it instantly. HIGHLY recommend you have a notebook by your side, the INFORMATION is astounding. So easy for a lay person to digest. Every chapter I was more liberated and empowered. Found a surgeon 'EP' who agreed I was a good candidate for Ablation. Into my 2nd week of recovery. 3 months from now I will know if it was a total success but from where I stand today I just know I'm in control of my AFib journey, not it controlling me. I have my life back in my own two hands - with the help of my most valued Cardio EP specialist. INVEST IN THE BOOK, it could literally save your life.
