Publisher's Summary

Wrong number. Right guy?

Once upon a time, Maggie Cooper lived for adventure. Jumping out of planes was child’s play. Now she can’t even work up the nerve to ask out her coworker. For a bit of self-therapy, she begins to text her recently deceased mother’s phone - the only problem is that the number has been reassigned and for weeks she’s been unknowingly texting a stranger her deepest thoughts and feelings. There have also been some not-so-deep texts, like the ones about her appreciation for her coworker’s butt.

When Chase Beckett, the unsuspecting stranger who has more in common with Maggie than he’d like to admit, texts back, Maggie is beyond mortified. But message after message and night after night, Maggie realizes that Chase’s wit, charm, and advice are exactly what the doctor ordered. Is it enough, though, to get her back up in the sky? And what about her heart? Can she risk taking a leap of faith for the man on the other end of her accidental texts?

Monotone & depressing

Voice was monotone.
The story was monotone & depressing. Skip to the last 5 minutes & epilogue for any joy.

I got this audiobook because of the reviews. And there was suppose to be laughs.

Chase was one dimensional till the end.

Adorable

As much a story about grieving as it is a story of hope for life and love after loss. An adorable romance.

Wonderful

It was a wonderful story about people grieving in their own ways and finding love. I cried and laughed with characters. The narrator was great and really made the story come to life. If I could I would have given this story 6 stars.

Slow burn, nothing steamy.

Cute enough though. Weird how many details about Phoenix were in it, esp since I'm from there. Wish they hooked up sooner.

Such a great story!

I really felt the pain in this novel. I’m very close with my mom and I cried so much when the main characters were talking about losing their mothers. Then was so giddy with the ending.

It is a beautifully written clean romance story.

I’m so glad I took a chance on listening to my first book by Becky Monson and will look for more by her.

The Perfect Book

I’m a fan of all of Becky Monson’s books but this one is my favorite - perhaps because I’ve recently lost my dad. Many feelings I’ve stuffed deep down came out while reading this book. She had me laughing (like her books always do) and crying and smiling and heart squeezing. A brilliant story line. So glad she wrote this one.
One of the things Becky does really well is character flow and connection. The friendships in the book makes me wish they were my friends too. 😂
I’m actually going to miss this story. Glad I can read it again….and again….maybe working thru my own feelings of loss and grief at the same time.

Such a Good Read!

Becky Monson's "The Accidental Text" is surprisingly good! I didn't know what I was getting into when I picked this up on Audible but I believe Monson's does a fantastic job at writing about heartache, friendship, maturity and love. This simple story brings you laughter, tears and the perfect ending. I am eager to get my hands on more Monson novels.
