Good book, dark but good

This is a story of moral codes. Quite an intense one at times. But a decent story, not the Pinocchio you see in the cartoon, but one that leaves you wanting to know what happens next.

Dark!

I like the Disney version but this is the original that inspired it and it is very dark.
