Story
These six cases are among the last undertaken by Sherlock Holmes before he retired to the Sussex downs. However, the problems facing the sleuth are as diverse and challenging as ever. What with seeking the whereabouts of the stolen Mazarin Diamond, discovering the importance of being called Garrideb, encountering a mysterious murder on Thor Bridge, searching for eternal youth and the threat of a vampire in Sussex, there is no sign of Holmes' deductive powers slowing down.

Story
In the last six stories written by Conan Doyle featuring Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, the duo face some of their most challenging cases. In "The Adventure of the Illustrious Client", Holmes puts his own life in danger as he tries to cut short a young girl’s infatuation with the notorious wife-murderer Baron Gruner. Why is Mrs. Maberley offered a handsome price for the Three Gables, provided she leaves at once and takes nothing with her?

Story
When Sherlock Holmes met his demise in "The Adventure of the Final Problem," published in 1893, the distress of the unsuspecting reading public was profound. For years fans showed no signs of letting Sherlock Holmes lie down and die. Eventually, Doyle saw fit to continue his Holmes' canon and wrote a series of 13 short stories, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, published in 1905.

Publisher's Summary
In this collection are four more individual cases for Mr. Sherlock Holmes, narrated by his faithful friend and admirer Dr. Watson. They dive into the opium dens of London in "The Man with the Twisted Lip," recall the curious history of "The Musgrave Ritual", come face to face with the grisly evidence contained in "The Cardboard Box", and go on a wild-goose chase in "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle". The powers of Sherlock Holmes prevail.

Excellent!
David Timson is my favourite narrator! It is fantastic hearing him read Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. He does a wide variety of accents, making it easy to tell everyone apart. The audiobook is a bit pricey for three and a half hours of content, but I didn't blink an eye and bought this one when Audible was having one of their sales. Pick these Sherlock Holmes stories up - any of them! You won't regret it.
