Publisher's Summary

In the 1990s, Jim Brewster put his sons, Ben and Luke, to bed each night with an "Uncle Rocky, Fireman" story. During each story, they enjoyed making truck engine sounds, blasting the siren, and testing the air horn. They also developed hand and body motions and pantomimed getting dressed for the fire. However, the best part of each story was at the end when they mimicked Uncle Rocky as he said, "Glad to do it!"

It was great fun then, and we hope as you listen to this audio it will continue as great fun for you and your children. The stories are completely free of any bad behavior, and the characters like and enjoy each other.

If you enjoy the stories, please visit Uncle Rocky's website at www.GladToDoIt.net, where you can download coloring pages or purchase the books for your children's library.

Great for boys 5-7 years old

My son listened this book 3 times in a row. He loves it. The book doesn’t have a scary/trilling plot and perfect for younger kinds (5-7 years old).

AMAZING!

What a wonderful story full of thanking God, grateful helpers and teamwork. Everyone has positive attitudes and nothing scary happens. It also manages to teach a lot about fires and how to handle emergency situations without any sense of fear. Would recommend 100%

My kids loved it!

I have a five year old daughter and an almost four year old son. They both loved it and so did I! We listen to it on our drives and sometimes during our lunchtime. They especially loved the sound effects made by the reader. I really enjoyed how much they learned but also how much I learned when it came to fire safety. It had definitely thought us how to be more careful. Thank you!

Gentle and Informative

This collection of stories is great for young kids (mine are 3, 5 and 7). The storylines are very simple so don’t expect twists and turns but they are sweet to listen to and actually impart wonderful lessons on safety and kindness. Altogether very wholesome and I was grateful for the Christian element where Uncle Rocky “thanked God he had been able to help!”
