Industries disappear, job descriptions change, and people's interests and passions evolve. The key to riding this wave, entrepreneur James Altucher advises, is to constantly be curious about what's next, to be comfortable with uncertainty so you can keep navigating the rough waters ahead, and most importantly, to pursue the things that interest you.

Publisher's Summary
Now complete with daily prompts to reflect on each day of a monthlong alcohol-free plan, the author of This Naked Mind helps listeners challenge their thinking, find clarity, and form new habits.
Changing your habits can be hard without the right tools. This is especially true for alcohol because habits are, by definition, subconscious thought processes. Through her methodical research of the latest neuroscience and her own journey, Annie Grace has cracked the code on habit change by addressing the specific ways habits form. This unique and unprecedented method has now helped thousands redefine their relationship to drinking painlessly and without misery.
In The Alcohol Experiment, Annie offers a judgment-free action plan for anyone who's ever wondered what life without alcohol is like. The rules are simple: Abstain from drinking for 30 days and just see how you feel. Annie arms her listeners with the science-backed information to address the cultural and emotional conditioning we experience around alcohol. The result is a mindful approach that puts you back in control and permanently stops cravings.
With a chapter and journal prompt devoted to each day of the experiment, Annie presents wisdom, tested strategies, and thought-provoking information to supplement the plan and support your step-by-step success as you learn what feels good for you. It's your body, your mind, and your choice.

Realistic, inspiring
this book is really well done and well performed. I decided to take this on at the same time as The Whole30 in order to cleanse my mind and my system of things that were poisoning me. I don't consider myself an alcoholic, but a lot of people in my family are, and alcohol weaves itself in and out of my life and my marriage quite frequently. It's a substance that hurts everything around me and I decided that it shouldn't be in my life anymore. So I took on this book with some skepticism, cuz I don't think the whole Alcoholics Anonymous applies to me, since I don't feel like I belong in that camp. But this really spoke to me, it's well-researched scientific and at the same time inspirational. There are no unrealistic expectations, it doesn't make you feel guilty, and it gives you real world examples of people have done this and have succeeded. I highly recommend this book. I am on day 7 of this, and I feel amazing. I don't feel like I need this substance in order to have fun in my life life, or to sleep. It's an awkward adjustment, but this book really gives you strength. I am so clear-headed, calm, and serene that I have no desire to go back. I can walk by a whole entire aisle of beer and wine and not feel a pull. I feel energetic every single morning, even tho my sleep patterns aren't quite yet. I used alcohol to self-medicate during times of stress, reward for having an effective day, or just to sleep. I really use it to sleep. I have insomnia and it's really hard. But this just made it worse. And the way I feel in the morning now as compared to when I did when I would have a drink before I would go to bed is Light Years. Even if I slept harder and longer with a drink in my system, and I sleep less if I don't have that drink, I feel 100 times better in the morning for it. I get up earlier, I do a lot more things in the morning, like walk my dog and take care of things in the house before I go to work, I work out, and at night, I have so much more room to do things when I don't have alcohol in my system like read and study for what I need to know in my career. This is really showing me something different and new on a whole other level. Thank you Annie for a wonderful book.

Six Months Sober
I had been struggling with alcohol lately and decided I wanted to quit. I kept trying and kept failing, which made me realize I was further along into the trap than I thought I was. It got bad but during the days I listened to Annie Grace's audiobooks and at night (usually while drinking) I read the books so I could 'brainwash' myself, or 'deprogram' myself.
It took a while but I knew I couldn't stop. Finally, one day, I decided to just go to sleep instead of drink. Once I got past that first night I knew I was going to finally beat this nonsense. I am officially 6 months sober and I have not actually craved alcohol at all except maybe a few days in the first few months, but they were never STRONG thoughts. Easy to toss to the side and move on with my day.
One thing I would like to note is that I wasn't just a 'typical' drinker. I was drinking 14 Beers (12oz, American) per day. Every day. I have been a heavy drinker for most of my adult life (over 20 years). Of course there were many years where I was just drinking once per week, and some years in my life where I rarely drank throughout an entire year. But the past 10 years alone I was drinking consistently, usually 3+ times per week. Then 5+, then every day. I was getting drunk enough to not black out so I could drink the next day.
I am also at my highest weight ever due to drinking. Over 300 pounds. 100+ pounds more than I should be. I am now dropping pounds off and living a healthier lifestyle, so that also keeps me from ever thinking of alcohol. I seriously just don't even crave it these days...
I highly recommend you check out both of Annie's books and join the alcoholexperiment website and FB group to hold yourself accountable in the first 30 days at the very least. 30 days + exercise and healthier eating = success!

A lot of assumptions and victim mentality
I downloaded the audiobook to see if she was going to talk about valid reasons for which alcohol is bad for humans. Instead, the entire introduction is all about how you feel about alcohol.
The author suggests that you feel worse after drinking. Well, that’s not true for me.
It’s clear that she had a drinking problem and is assuming that everyone who drinks alcohol experiences what she has.
The whole introduction assumes that you’re a victim to alcohol and you don’t have a choice to stop whenever you want. I think this kind of mentality is exactly what stops people from knowing that they can.
I barely got through the introduction so maybe this isn’t a totally fair review, but I think I am able to see where this is going. At the very least, she could’ve stated a few facts to draw the reader in instead of assuming how you feel about drinking alcohol.

Helpful Day-at-a-Time Approach to Living AF
This audiobook is a helpful companion to Annie Grace’s “This Naked Mind” and to her online programs for getting control over alcohol. The fact that it’s broken into one-day-at-a-time chapters is useful if you just want to spend a little time each day learning about and thinking about alcohol and how it impacts you. However, you can also choose to listen to several days of information at a time, and you can easily revisit chapters that are particularly relevant for you. She’s not the most skilled narrator. I found her annunciation errors to be annoying but the fact that she reads her own material lends authenticity to the book so I’m still glad she read it — I just wish she had a better editor/producer who could fine tune her delivery. In any case, this was a very helpful book for me as I embark on an alcohol free life.
