Story
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Publisher's Summary
Aiden Anderson got off to a tough start in life.
He had a small family to begin with, and they were all gone by the time he turned 16. He did his best to shake off his grief and go on to a successful life as a musician. He was talented, but just missed the big time.
When Aiden dies in a car crash, he couldn't be more surprised to open his eyes in his grandmother's kitchen in 1961. He has a second chance at everything: family, friends, and fame. Even in Middle Falls, second chances don't always turn out right.
Includes bonus story Rock 'n' Roll Heaven and a special note from the author.

Absolutely magical!
The entire Middle Falls Time Travel series is phenomenal. This, the latest addition, is no exception. Shawn Inmon creates characters that the reader truly comes to care for and love (and on occasion despise - although redemption is often forthcoming.) When an author can give you goosebumps from emotion, not fright, make you laugh, bring tears to your eyes all within the span of a few pages, that is something special. Mr. Inmon delivers every single time, as do the different narrators.
After I had listened to three or four of these books I started to expect the story lines to get stale; but, after 14 books, it hasn’t happened yet. Now I truly believe they never will. I cannot wait for the next books to come out. In the meantime, I suppose I will have to start back at the beginning and listen to them all again.

I've read the whole series. This is my favorite
Inmon makes a comment in his author's note in one of the books about how much he admires Stephen King. IMHO what King does best is develop unforgettable, fully-formed characters. Guessing Inmon agrees because how else do you write 14 books with the same premise set in the same place?
While some in the series are just ok, I always keep reading because of his characters. This one was especially good in both character and plot and was a tad different than the rest. Inmon, unlike some authors, gets better the longer he writes.
And probably the best compliment these days: I've listened to most of his books for free through KU; he's now charging a credit for the audio books and I'm willing to pay!

Good enough main story but…
Didn’t warm up to this one as much as I have for others in the series. The worst part was the bonus story, Rock and Roll Heaven. I’ll chalk it up to just not being my cup of tea. Liked the ending though. Don’t let my opinion scare you off. If you’re more into details of 50’s rock it will probably work for you. I don’t need to ever hear Jim Morrison songs again and definitely not a Buddy Holly fan.

Another satisfying story
Another great narrator, and another fun entry. Aiden really does try vastly different paths, and it is cool to see a Middle Falls MC branch out a bit more. It was fun to see the music scene and house remodel scene, and the ultimate conclusion was decently satisfying. Also loved seeing Charles again, and it is interesting seeing him breaking the rules.

The story well thought out, especially having Aiden jump around in his life so that he understood quickly what was the most important thing for him to concentrate on. A very lovely story.

Another great book in the Middle Falls series, with fantastic narration. Shawn Inmon manages to keep every book enjoyable and surprising, and the journeys undertaken his protagonists vary, but never focused on fame and fortunes. In this book, Aiden's journey is about is about finding fulfilment, love and belongining - something most of us strive to achieve in our lifetimes.

Story
In the summer of 1981, Mark Brown was a teenager working at a 7-11 store when he wasn't rehearsing with his high school band, Phantasy. Come fall, Brown, now called BrownMark, was onstage with Prince at the Los Angeles Coliseum, opening for the Rolling Stones in front of 90,000 people. Raw, wry, real, this book takes us from his musical awakening as a boy in Minneapolis to the cold call from Prince at 19, from touring the world with The Revolution and performing in Purple Rain to inking his own contract with Motown.
