Absolute dogturd of an ending

So much left unfinished. So many loose threads. Maybe the author should have left all the other writers work out and put in some more of his own. Worst dogturd ending of any book series yet.

Awesome in The Truest Sense of the World

I would like to thank Penguin very much for producing such an amazing rendition of all the three books of his dark Materials trilogy. Philip Pullman reads it beautifully. I first read the trilogy years ago and loved it but when I listened to this recording it brought the books to life. The story is so psychedelic and surreal. No words can truly describe how absolutely outstanding this trilogy is.
However, I am deeply disappointed that the actors who played their parts beautifully were not credited. I would’ve loved to have known who played each part. PLEASE rectify this.
Listen to this recording. You will NOT be disappointed.

Brilliant conclusion to the trilogy.

Despite a gut wrenching ending, Mr Pullman's masterful storytelling remaind deeply compelling and hugely satisfying. can't wait to get on to the Book od Dust.

Too long

Way too long. Needed to be third shorter. Lyras voice really overacts it. irritating.

It felt like the ending was rushed

Philip Pullman is so good at drawing you into the narrative, which he does successfully until the last 2 hours or so. Suddenly it was like he realised he had somewhere else to be and so rushed the final chapters. They lacked his descriptive text and usual attention to detail. So many loose ends - perhaps he's planning on a spin off or sequel. Left feeling disappointed.

Second half stronger than the first

Some of the voice acting in this whole series is irritating at times, it’s a bit overdone, perhaps it’s aimed more at children than adults but it’s like listening to a kids tv show. The voice actor for Lyra is particularly bad.

A Delicious Delight

A lyrical Lyra tale, multi layered like the aleithiometer, that resonates in my heart-mind. So many characters I warmed to, who built a wee kingdom in this readers inner world..

Loved it.

The whole cast was amazing. I truly loved this series and got well caught up in the magic of these books. I can see why "the church" was upset about it, but it wouldn't be the first time nor will it be the last that a religion will be used in a book, or be seen as potentially evil in a book. I wouldn't take that part too seriously in my day to day life. I loved how the series was wound up too. Too many series end almost straight after the big battle leaving alot of questions to mind but this answered all the pressing ones. I thoroughly enjoyed this Audio book series.

Good book

Great series, enjoyed all three. Spoilers, would have liked a bit more detail for what happened to some of the minor characters, other than that a great listen. Very well performed.
