Story
I used to get feelings of pure dread when Sunday night creeped up. By the time the Monday morning alarm clock went off, my heart would sink into my stomach. Every fiber in my body knew I couldn’t do that career for even one more day. Sound familiar? Yet somehow we find a way to keep going hour after hour. The only thing keeping me awake was stress induced adrenaline and pure hatred. I now wake up before my alarm clock goes off. I lay in my bed at night after work and can’t stop thinking about how much I love my career.

Story
In psychology, attachment theory explains adult relationships through the lens of parent-child relationships. According to this theory, we develop attachment patterns with parents and caregivers in early childhood that influence how we relate to others as adults. Your attachment styles can also determine the type of person you gravitate to in relationships, since you are looking to have your needs met in a certain way. This can sometimes result in destructive relationships if partners are unable to have their needs met in the way they prefer.

Early adolescence often triggers family disruption that usually manifests through verbal conflicts and problem behaviors in boys. Many parents claim they would happily go back to the sleepless newborn phase and toddler tantrums rather than trying to navigate the perpetual moodiness and drama of puberty. There is strong evidence suggesting that the nature of a parent-child relationship influences the child’s life outcomes and affects their development.

Didn’t think I needed this book. Boy was I wrong!
At first I laughed and thought I don’t need a book to teach me how to do nothing.. I reluctantly gave the book a chance and DANG!! I shudder to think where I’d be without this. I am super short on time because of my job but I wanted to heal my burnout through doing nothing. I would not have been able to do it without this book. Chandler lays out exactly how you can do nothing without falling behind in work or life. Using his super specific 6 step system I was able to free myself of Guilt, shame and judging my worth based on my accomplishments. My relationship with my wife is deeper than ever. My children jump up and down with excitement because Daddy finally has time to play. I feel like I have my life back! I love his S.A.D. method of releasing thinking about work problems too. My family notices that I am fully present with them and in a playful mood because I can fully focus on them. Additionally, I got the paperback version so I could reread it, highlight and take notes. Your wisdom saved my family life!

Wow, No wonder lol
God knows I’m not lazy and used to work tirelessly for my goals but I would always find myself exhausted, burnt out with little progress and I never knew why! What would seriously frustrate me the most was my business partner (my husband) who has always took his time, literally do less and would somehow achieve 10x more than me. I would be like seriously??? I get up way earlier than him and am more productive than him, WHY?! But after listening to this audible book, the truth was revealed as to why. This book taught me another way of achieving my dreams and goals that actually feels so much better, much more effective and intentional with presence which paradoxically helped me achieve more in shorter time with little to no effort. After listening to this incredible book, I am now able to gain weight, my hair and skin is healthier, I’m happier, my relationships are better, my communication is more effective and I’m able to provide much more intentional value to others in the world. If you want to wake up and snap out of the struggle of hustle, listen to this book and I promise you you’ll be more effective and happier.

Excellent advice!
Every too busy person should read this. Our daily lives are overcome with everything we need to do but giving ourselves time. We need that time. This book lays it all out and ways to give yourself that time even in a busy schedule. The writing style is easy to read and relatable. As with Chandler Kitching's other books it hosts a simple step by step approach that can be done quite easily. A must read if you for the overworked, overwhelmed worker!

This book hits close to home, as a individual that loves to stay busy and many active side projects. What is really important?
This book reiterates a timeless message in a contemporary setting. Mr. Kitching frames the question “what is really important?” within the all-to-common present day condition of workplace burnout. To me the answer comes clear and simple: “Decide what is important, do that and then feel free to say no to everything else”. Good job!

One Of Those "Books You Didn't Know You Needed"
As someone who is in multiple startup companies putting the extra-long sweat hours, I was feeling that unshakable fatigue that no coffee or pre-workout could cure. The Art of Doing nothing is just one of those books that fit into the category of "greatest book you never knew you needed". Man am I ever thankful that this book exists. I have had a hard time just doing things for my own mental work-life balance because I felt, watching an hour of Netflix or playing a couple of games with my buddies was counterproductive and carried a world of guilt. Chandler's system really breaks it down where you can have the best of both worlds and most importantly protect your mental energy which is most important. I'm going to run through this whole book again tomorrow, then probably like once a month. That's how game-changing it is.

Find the balance
I felt this book was written for me, life gets out of control and you know it's a downward spiral. It took listening to this book to make me realise how neccessary it was to change and find time for myself.
This book is a gamechanger!
