Publisher's Summary

At the peak of his career and success, Ari Meisel nearly killed himself from exhaustion and overwork.

He had to make a choice: He could let his "success" destroy him physically and mentally, or he could find a better way to live. He spent the next few years redesigning his life from scratch.

Ultimately he found the way to reduce his workload by 80 percent while actually increasing results and success. Furthermore, he could spend time on what matters most: his family.

This book describes his method.

Using Meisel's revolutionary Optimize, Automate, Outsource approach, you will learn how to take almost anything you do and make it work smarter instead of harder. Modern methods like the 80/20 rule, the 3 D's, and multiplatform repurposing let you build a high-powered, traditional-style "success factory" that requires only one employee to run.

Less work, more results, more happiness.

Actionable guide to getting more done

I really enjoyed this top to bottom overview of ways to do less but get more done. He laid out the mindset, the methodology and actionable tips and tools throughout the entire book. I highly recommend it for any entrepreneur, business person, or parent.

All About Remote Assistants

The majority of this book was all about needless processes and having a remote assistant to help you make your life more efficient.

This book is not practical for ...

People who come from hard knock lives, like myself, would never find half of the things he speaks of in this book to be practical in our everyday lives. He's basically telling the reader to hire or pay for someone or something to do as much for you as possible in order to free up your time. "With what money Sway??" The more time you free up, the less money you'll have in your savings and retirement is what he's implying to the average Joe. Do not waste your time listening to this Audible only unless you're a millionaire and have the luxury to do so.

Beautiful equations to maximize effort

Having read numerous books on organization and personal development many of the core ideas sound familiar. However, the book is concise and offers many concrete ways to streamline and automate one’s life. There is a small plug for his own virtual assistant company, but in the context of automation strategies. This did not bother me at all as it was interesting, thought provoking, and one of many other automation services referenced in the book. Great strategies for using technology to get back to basics!

It was going great but at a certain point, it started going on fully advertisement mode of the author's new startup business.

It was useful and practical for a while but the author kept mentioning their new virtual assistant startup from the beginning lightly. At a certain point, he talked like an ad about it for several minutes. I feel cheated and almost feel like this whole book is just to turn you to use their virtual assistant service for less doing.

Just what I need

The practices and principles brought out in this book have reinforced habits being introduced in my life through coaching and development. Ari makes it practical, simple & to the point. One of my best listens to date and will go back to this one often.

Don’t waste your time reading this book

This book is aimed at the lowest common denominator. Anyone who has a reasonable intellect will find it a waste of time. The reader’s voice is annoying and the content is laughable. Generalisations preside. As a successful business owner looking for insights to reach the next level I cannot believe the author thinks the content of this book would help anyone with basic common sense.

Target audience.. only for the wealthy

Great tips and advice, very impractical for the average worker human being. unfortunately I do not yet have the funds to send baggels to a friend in the next country vai a 20minute shipping app because they are craving them. I am to busy keeping the wolf at the door because my company is paying me 5k less per annum and have been demoted to a driver ... but I am a hard worker and a nice guy and they don't want to loose me... but here is a kick in the teeth please stay with us and work for as little as we can afford to pay you while we pay the office workers the big bucks.

got very despondent with life after listening to the book.

good practical guide

I loved the direct approach to the information, not too much stories and bla bla but rather solid info. the last part is the reason for the one star less, I don't believe in automating and outsourcing every single bit of your life and work that you don't love.

Strong Start, Disappointing Conclusion

Very well acted, and first 2/3s were very good, but the Outsourcing section was a big let down, as it just boiled down to using other people or services to do certain tasks, including outsourcing the outsourcing...

Nothing new

Suited for people who are brand new to productivity and time management. If you’ve read other books about the topic then it won’t teach you anything new. The section about automation mentions several apps and services that are no longer available. Listened to the chapter on outsourcing at 2x speed as it didn’t offer much value.

Insights ...

Great insights and points of view, reinforced with good real world examples. Gave it a 3* as opposed to 5 as I cynically took the build up to final Chapter 9 as self promotional advertising for his virtual assistant business. The premise of the book, less is more is underscored by batch processing - and ultimately out sourcing, and low and behold the book uses the book's theme and audience attention to not only speak to the process, but also doubles up as an efficient advert for the authors other business... which is about out sourcing. That is at worst cynical, but there are a lot of good thoughts and attention to valuable and insightful thinking. It's well worth the time and attention to glean useful thinking on how to be more efficient. Would encourage giving it a go, and even though I'm being super critical, I learned a lot, so grateful to author for getting this done. Thank you.
