Publisher's Summary

Have you ever thought to question your thinking? Do you find it increasingly difficult to step out of your comfort zone or think outside of the box? Or, do you constantly question your decision-making?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, this audiobook will change your life for the better. Are you ready to begin?

So many people have no idea what a mental model is or that they control our lives.

Mental models are the mind’s framework to help us make sense of the world, solve problems, and make informed decisions. They are built with your education, past experiences, and habits of thought you create over time.

But did you know your mental models can go wrong?

Harmful models come from biases or ill-formed beliefs, which can cause you to have low self-esteem, depression, and poor relationships. Understanding how mental models work will help you function more efficiently, make better and more logic-based decisions, and use your mental energy more wisely.

Based on psychological research, this book helps you break apart and rebuild the maps you have created in your mind

Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky’s 1973 research on “Judgement Under Certainty: Biases and Heuristics” through the Oregon Research Institute provides foundational evidence for us. They show how mental models interfere with humans’ ability to gather new information and build patterns of thought, making it difficult to assess new problems and decisions.

This audiobook bundle includes:

  • The Power of Mental Models: How to Make Intelligent Decisions, Gain a Mental Edge and Increase Productivity
  • Mental Models Revealed: Why You Should Not Only Rely on Them and What to Do Instead

With this book, you’ll discover:

  • The best and most effective way to train your mind, just like you train your body, to reach your greatest potential and find your power
  • The triggers and signs for when mental models are engaging and trapping you
  • Reasons why your intuition may be seriously hindering or even hurting you
  • The absolute worst thing you are doing that is stopping your open-mindedness
  • The most successful and happiest people are so good at “thinking out of the box” and how you can, too!
  • Steps to stop limiting yourself and try new things without fear
  • Methods to rid yourself of your “default” ways of thinking to improve your relationships, and love yourself
  • Ways to feel great about your decision-making process so you don’t live with regret!

Just like your body changes and you learn to care for it over time, does it not make sense to grow and develop your decision-making skills and mental game, too?

With this audiobook, you will build your mental toolbox to more efficiently and effectively make decisions, solve problems, and realize your life’s greatest potential.

This audiobook is pretty informative too.

This audiobook is pretty informative too. But, at the same time, they can limit your thinking. So it’s important to know your boxes well if you want to think outside them. And this is exactly what this audiobook is about. I love this audiobook.

A really cool book.

A really cool book. I loved each of the models, the stories behind them and how they come together. The writing style is fun and fresh, despite the heady ideas. There are countless references to other books I would now love to listen to.

It helps us make smarter decisions.

A mental model is an explanation of someone's thought process about how something works in the real world. It helps us make smarter decisions.

A helpful summary but not much original material

if you've already read Thinking Fast and Slow or any other books on critical thinking or logical fallacies then there books may provide a useful refresher but they don't add much that's new. These audiobooks don't provide much evidence or references to the original research. As such, it can read like a list of commandments to follow at times, which is personally be resistant to follow if I'd not read other books that provided more detailed evidence that the bias exists.

I will certainly have a look at.

Some of the models overlap and shadow each other which, in my opinion, helps reinforce the learning of each principle. I will certainly have a look at other works by this author.

It might seem over the top but I'm not kidding when I say I regret buying the orange flavored gum instead of picking the apple flavored one.

And it’s well-explained.

I’ve listened a lot of books about mental models and I find that they are often vague and confusing. But this book is clear and straightforward. And it’s well-explained. I highly recommend it.

Perspective is all that you need.

It's just an extremely well researched book with models that span a wide variety of disciplines. My favorite chapter ended up being "Anti Mental Models" because of how it completely flipped my perspective on things, and sometimes a simple shift in perspective is all that you need.
