Best Sports Psych Book Out There
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. It gives very practical suggestions and skills to improve mental performance for sports or even life situations. I especially enjoyed the way the concepts and skills are introduced in the form of a story. This really helped me to connect to these ideas and kept me interested the entire time. I feel the material will help me achieve my very best in whatever I do.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I really liked the relationship between Leo-tai and Danielsan. It personalized the principles and techniques in the book and made me believe that these work in real life. Danielsan seems to truly appreciate the impact Leo-tai had upon him.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite chapter/scene was the battle with the raccoons and establishing the absolute importance of self-belief in anything we hope to achieve in life. The humor of the situation makes this important principle stand out to me and easy to remember.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The Way to Achieve Your Goals and Dreams.
Any additional comments?

Outstanding - Five Stars
Where does The Art of Mental Training rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It ranks 9 on a scale of 10. This is exactly the type of self-improvement information I was looking for. An inspirational book that teaches by using an engaging story.
What other book might you compare The Art of Mental Training to and why?
This book teaches differently than other books. It presents important principles of success by weaving and embedding them throughout a well written story line. I found it really entertaining and unlike other books in this category, the approach here was fresh and original. I liked the author's tone, style, and audio delivery.
Have you listened to any of D. C. Gonzalez’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have his success conditioning audio programs called Unstoppable Confidence, Personal Best, Goal Achievement, and Deep Relaxation. I really like them. They build mental skills using a different approach and in a different way. Kind of like having a personal consultation with a peak performance expert and sports hypnotherapist whenever you want. In comparison, this audio book teaches the Warrior-Champion mindset through story telling. Gonzalez is excellent in both types of performances.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and each time I listen to different parts of the book again, I realize just how carefully designed the presentation is. There are so many powerful ideas presented in such a subtle way. Truly well written.
Any additional comments?
I really don't understand some of the critics - I think they miss the point. This is a great book it's been the Number 1 Kindle eBook in Sports Psychology and Martial Arts for over a year now. That in itself says a lot.
