Publisher's Summary
Eighteen-year-old Charlee Parker met the love of her life in a parking lot-a leggy brunette with a valedictorian medal hanging from her rear-view mirror and an attitude as biting as a Boston winter. Alexandra Woodson was guarded, a 19-year-old orphan set on a bright future in hospitality administration. She never imagined an art student with a penchant for cheesy pick-up lines and stealing parking spaces would crack her rigid exterior and claim her heart.
For four years, theirs was an enviable love - evergreen and growing. Unbreakable... until it broke.
Alex's job now brings her back to Boston, after five years working on the opposite side of the country. When, by chance, they meet again, Charlee and Alex are swept up in a whirlwind of heart-rending history, tossed between past and present, and lovers old and new. Will their lingering connection be enough to convince them that some loves are meant to last? Or should the past remain in the past?
Contains mature themes.

Now That's a Love Story!!!!
this book was so powerful I'm not sure how to start any sort of review. I'm not sure which was better... the amazing storyline or Abby craden narrating. loved both!!! the whole story played out perfectly. this audiobook is so filled with emotion it's really hard to pinpoint the right words to use here. I loved the characters (especially Charlie) and the whole thing definitely gave me the feels. I'm sure it will be a long time before I find another love story so perfect. sorry this review is all over the place. Ha. the book was so good I honestly feel like I should contact the author and tell her how much I appreciated it. anyway, if you are reading this and considering getting this book, please do.

Deserve more stars than there are in the universe
This is not a book it’s a feeling wrapped in a world of just two people. I have never been so moved by a story as much as this. Abby Craden was the best narrator to portray the characters in this book. The characters are brought out in such detail that it is possible to touch them. The humor, the sadness, the love of a couple blended with the love of family. Once torn apart but gradually through the story brought back together again. Made whole from shattered parts.
As you might have guessed I do recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this talented author.

constant jumping in time with no indication or transition almost made me give up on a good book with an excellent performance by Abby Crayden.

This was a really good book.
This is one of my favorite audiobooks. I’ve listened to a lot recently and this is in the top 5. I appreciated Charlie’s character best. I occasionally wanted to poke Alex in the eye - lol - but I understand where she’s emotionally coming from. Some people struggle doing what’s best for themselves if it involves hurting someone else. This was an emotional ride. But a good one.

Pure angst
Excellent narration - some of Abby Craden's best. This is a great listen and a great story and chock full of angst - I think I developed an angst-induced stomachache in the process but I enjoyed every minute of it. Other reviewers have mentioned how confusing it was when the story bounced between flashback and present day - be sure to listen for present tense to track whether the book is in present day or not.

Try it.
A beautiful book from the voice of a narrator I adore. It's a very solid story with a lot of patterns and payoffs that just feel right.
I know 5/5 is a lot, but I'm a sucker for art and patterns and crying occasionally. I knew I would like it 1 chapter in. You can see the scenes so vividly, with your own little tastes to it. I'd definitely recommend it.

Not the usual formulae
Very enjoyable listen, excellent narration as always from Abby Craden.
Most of the writing was tight and some really interesting descriptions of emotional and physical intimacy and the lack of it.
Could possibly have done with a shorter tease towards the end but can't fault it for value at 9 hours of story.
The flashbacks were done well although as I wasn't reading it made me work a little to place where we were, but I didn't have to work that hard.
Solid read and something a little different... hey its a romance you know where you're going to end up, its the journey that matters.

Beautiful Story
This was both beautifully written and narrated. I really enjoyed the flashbacks and felt like they added to the flow of the narrative.
The chemistry between Charlee and Alex seeps out of the pages, and even though it's clear that people are going to get their hearts broken, it is clear that these two belong together.
The secondary characters added so much depth to a angsty, yet touching story. It was quite emotional at times, but Hughes still managed to sprinkle it with humour.

Angsty and sexy
This is my first KL Hughes book. Im a sucker for angsty second change romances and this one did not disappoint.
I really enjoyed how Charlees heartbreak and longing manifested itself in her art. These two cant keep away from either other and subconsciously revisit old places in their city where they think they might see each other. I enjoyed the longing stares and sexual tension between the two of them for the entire book. Some scenes had me laughing out loud, especially their awkward double date and how they explain it to their friends afterwards.
The book flicks between the past and present and does so gracefully, most of the time. I would have enjoyed a few more scenes of their relationship building in the past, but the book focussed on some pivotal moments in their relationship and spent a long time explaining and expanding there.
I think there an opportunity was missed to explain Alex's hurtful past and how they fell in love in the beginning. Their first love scene was interesting but I felt like it was too rushed and missed a little context.
Overall, I couldn't stop listening. I think I've listened to Abby Craden's voice longer than some of my closest family over the last 6 months. She does such a great job, its hard for me to give another narrator a chance.

it’s cold, it’s beautiful
i read most of this book when it was still in its beta phase, when the characters had different names which gave the story different meanings; i love it just as much now as i did then. this book will make you ache and cry and blush, and it will all be worth it. i loved living in this world, even for just a little while. may we meet again.
