Publisher's Summary

The Atlas Paradox is the long-awaited sequel to Olivie Blake's New York Times bestselling dark academic sensation The Atlas Six—guaranteed to have even more yearning, backstabbing, betrayal, and chaos.

Six magicians were presented with the opportunity of a lifetime.

Five are now members of the Society.

Two paths lay before them.

All must pick a side.

Alliances will be tested, hearts will be broken, and The Society of Alexandrians will be revealed for what it is: a secret society with raw, world-changing power, headed by a man whose plans to change life as we know it are already under way.

"The Atlas Six introduced six of the most devious, talented, and flawed characters to ever find themselves in a magical library, and then sets them against one another in a series of stunning betrayals and reversals. As much a delicious contest of wit, will, and passion as it is of magic...half mystery, half puzzle, and wholly a delight."—New York Times bestselling author Holly Black

can barely understand the female characters

the low husky voice thing is hard to understand and adds to an already slow story.

The story is good the narration not so much

The Parisa and Rena chapters are especially bad, if it wasn't for the story I would have stopped listening.

Poor listening experience

Majority of the cast is breathy and mumbling. It is near impossible to understand them without cranking the volume, only to be met with an excessively loud narrator in the next chapter. Some enunciation practice and sound editing would go a long way.

Volume equalizing needed

Some chapters scream and others are whispers. A little sound editing would go a long way here.
The story is fine if you like dark academia but man does it move like molasses.

Love love love

I feel like I haven’t seen as many people love this series as much as I do. It’s a new all time favorite. The characters are amazingly complex and diverse and flawed. I love them. The story is unique and I’ve never read anything like it. The magic system is unlike anything I’ve seen before, and it is so entertaining to learn more about it as the books continue. I love the romances, the mystery, the dramatic irony.

The audiobooks are superb. The narrators have such unique voices for these characters, and they also capture the other characters so well during their own narrated parts.

The writing is fantastic. The themes and topics addressed are so complex. I love this series and I can’t wait for more. Especially after that ending!

Female narrator terrible

The whispery fake deep yet somehow still nasal voice is so distracting and difficult to understand that I keep having to rewind. Absolutely awful.

I wanted to be impressed.

I feel the story drags in places. Hoping the next book wraps up this story. I’m not sure how much longer I can keep reading these.

Good Book. One terrible narration choice.

The book is good. The narration is good - easily 4 stars... except... I give it 2... whoever is responsible for Parisa's lazy mumbling and whispering through her chapters in some ham fisted attempt to convey her sultriness has done this book a disservice. I don't recall it being quite so bad in the previous book. I don't know who directed that narrator to perform it that way but it really detracts from the overall presentation. In fact, this book and it's predecessor probably would have been better served.by a single narrator than a cast.

I wanted to like it

I really wanted to like this Ive listened to the first then this book. I cant get past the voice acting its terribly unpleasant to listen to. I thought the audio book for dracula was bad. The characters are egotistical selfish and cruel, I keep hoping to see some redeeming qualities. Id suggest deadly education as a better read and leave this one in the bin.

Nicolibby deserved better

Loved all the narrators except for parisa's which is sad because she is my favorite character
