Thank you Fr. Mike!

Father Mike Schmitz starts by reading the passage first and then explaining it. This is important to know because I thought that you had to read the passage alone first so don't worry if you don't have the reading plan because he reads it to you. That being said they do have a reading plan you can download to follow along and read first if you want. The best part is when Father Mike explains the passage. I've listened to the first 3 and already have learned SO MUCH. Please also listen to the introductory episodes where he talks about helpful tips when you're reading (listening to) the Bible. If you've gone to college then you know that all the reading classes are based on critical theory and work. This is what gave me a hard time the first time I read the Bible through, since I read it at first with a critical mindset. Father Mike talks about how to read without this mindset in order to get the most out of the Bible. I look forward to this podcast throughout the year and it gives me such hope that this is the number one podcast in the US currently! After the year we've been through, we all need this podcast.

Love FR. Mike

i have never really read my bible in depth, just a few passages here and there. I started listening to Fr. Mike and I am totally hooked. He brings the bible alive and his commentary is spot on for todays lives! If there were more Catholic priests like Fr. Mike the churches would be overflowing on Sundays!!

Great reading

This program is set up absolutely perfect. Having the introduction was great. Then having him read or proclaim the Word is wonderful! Just sitting back and listening. What a wonderful way to start the day. I love it and am looking forward to God's Word coming to life.

A Priest for Evangelicals

We are evangelicals and we look forward to Fr. Mike's daily readings and devotionals. He reads well and is so excited about the God and the Bible that it's impossible not to enjoy and get something from each reading.

Audible makes it impossible to listen

I love this podcast but audible doesn't make it easy to listen unless you're staying up to date with the release of the podcast. I've tried numerous times to sort "Old to New" and then find where I'm at in the episodes, but the app doesn't hold the setting. Frustrating.

My new favorite podcast!

Fr. Mike does such a great job of leading this Bible study. With the knowledge from experts and time references, it makes it so much more digestible to sit down and read the Bible. I have loved adding this to my daily schedule and highly recommend it to all!
