Publisher's Summary

I rose from the ashes. But he spread my wings.

I don’t like "jocks" or playboys. In fact, I teach women how to kick their asses.

I do this so no one has to be a victim like I was.

Never again would I depend on a man. They either leave or hurt you.

Like a phoenix, I rose from my circumstances.

I made myself strong. Secure. I pushed childish things aside and focused on my stable future.

But when he walked into my life, he ruined everything.

He tricked me. He made me want to love. Lust. Trust. He was used to flaunting his money, but it was his body I wanted. And he wanted mine…or so I thought.

Eliana Gonzales was a fighter. She had to be. It was the only way to survive the horror of her past. But that strength alienated her from her sister, friends, and family.

David Maddix was a bad boy, fashion mogul, and business tycoon. Growing up in the inner city, he learned to live fast and hard, and to trust no one.

During Eliana’s self-defense class, the pair clash. And their worlds collide with a passion neither expected. But will they be able to weather the flames of the Phoenix?

The Billionaire’s Phoenix is book two of the Sapphire Siren Cruise Ship Vacation Romance series. It may be listened to as a stand-alone, however, it is best if book one is heard prior to this.

This one hit differently…

I had to take a bit after completion before reviewing this one. This story hit me hard. This one hit me on a personal level. While I am not by any means dating or will ever have the chance to fall in love with a billionaire. The storyline of this book, the gravity of all that ties it together. It’s personal to me. I am so thankful I was gifted this book. I can relate to the Phoenix. I have been there in my own. Sometimes traumas cause triggers. But this one only strengthened my wings more than I had already done on my own.

All I can say ladies and gents who read this book and get something deeper out of David and Eliana’s story…keep fighting, keep moving, and make a difference.

A unique and catching story

I love the setting of this series. This was the first book I have read of the series but it is clearly an interconnected standalone and I did not feel like I missed out on anything, I always love a story with a strong main female character and what makes this even better is how the main male character immediately recognized her strength and encouraged it. Though it wouldn't be a romance if there weren't bumps and lessons to be learned I really felt the whole story was well developed.
Susan Marlowe did a great job narrating all the different characters and was able to clearly differentiate a voice for each of them.
I am so excited to read more about all of these characters. Back to book one and excited to see what is coming next from K Thomas.
