Mixed Review

I really enjoyed the beginning 3 hours and last 2 hours of the book. I was hooked initially and thought I was going to blaze right on through it. Then the middle came and I had a really hard time staying focused. Then the last two hours hit and I was sucked in again and did not stop until it was done.

Some things I really liked about this book is I could picture everything very clearly. The descriptions were amazing and fantastic. The Voodoo was extremely atmospheric and I really loved how it was weaved through the whole story. With the vampirism, I liked that it stayed pretty true to most stories surrounding vampires. I find authours try to make their own vampire world which is great and we need that, but I appreciated the classic vampire elements. I think my favourite character was Marie the cat.

Teresa Booth does very distinct voices. One or two of the voices I really had a hard time listening to, but they were perfect for the characters she was portraying. She did an excellent job the problem was me.

I received this audiobook at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Love the story not the narrator

It is a good paranormal romance set in the city of New Orleans. The heroine was too much into the hero. Just my opinion of course. It is a good romance story, I do recommend this book to those that like vampire romance novels. However, I do not care for the narrator, it was hard for me to get through the book listening to her. It's rare for me to rate narrators this low. She is the first.

Very enjoyable read.

This was a pretty good one. I love that it was set in New Orleans that was a big hit with me. It flowed well and the story actually drew me in quickly. Although, it was a tiny bit predictable towards the end, I'd still definitely reccomend it.

Loved!

It was a slow start but well worth the wait! This book took me to New Orleans. Makes me want to go visit just for the gumbo and maybe see a Vampire while I'm there! Loved the ending! So ready for the next book!

fantastic book

This was the first book i have read by this author. The story line was fantastic. We had ghost, witches, vampires and voodoo practitioners. It sort of reminds me a little of Molly Harper's books and Annie Nichols books(The not my series). I definitely would read more in this series. The narrator did a great job. I was gifted this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

Vampires, Witches and Voodoo

Victoria Clapton painted an alluring tale with her vivid imagery and details. I have always been intrigued by New Orleans, and found it to be the perfect setting of The Binding. I was drawn to the character of Sybella Rose, her cat Marie, and Demien. The storyline was original, had plenty of steam, some endearing characters, and great details. I loved the historical details that were injected into the story that gave it authenticity. Teresa Booth impressed me with her performance. She brought the characters to life with her distinguishable voices. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Thw Binding

Sybella Rose has always had a odd connection to things. But with not much money left after moving to the big easy to live a dream, she finds work in a great little gris gris store under her apt. But she soon meets a dark figure, Deamian, Who she figures out pretty fast is a vampire, a very rude vampire. Than she is plunged into the paranormal world that is New Orleans.

This is a awesome book it has action and a ton of suspense, but most of all flavor. Ms. Clapton has woven this book together into a wonderful pot of gumbo tasting goodness. I lived in NOLA for several years and this took me right back, I love the characters and their typical laissez les bon temps rouler attitude. The audio was pleasant enough and the different voices are interesting, but I surely can't wait to hear more.
