3 audible books in 1!

Get the main Bloodline Awakened story all in 1 audiobook.

Dragon Horn by J.P. Rice is an urban fantasy which finds Merlino, the magical guardian of Pittsburgh, on a quest to find the Dragon Horn in order to rescue his city from evil dragons. With the help of a few friends and companions he must travel through dangerous lands in order to accomplish this goal.

Dragon Horn is a thrilling ride that any urban fantasy fan will likely greatly enjoy. J. P. Rice peoples the book with characters who are somewhat outrageous, some humorous, some somewhat disgusting but usually fascinating characters nonetheless. Merlino cares deeply for his city and its residents and goes to whatever lengths necessary to protect it.

J.P. Rice has written another exciting installment in his Bloodline Awakened series. In Blood Goblet Mr. Rice mixes Shawnee mythology with what appears to me to be perhaps some Japanese mythology (not exactly sure of the actual origin). Merlino has to put together a company to find and acquire the Blood Goblet in order to rescue Cyclone Woman from the remaining members of the Seven Sorcerers.

This story is filled with plenty of action. We also come to know more about the characters as more of their backgrounds are revealed.

In Clipped Wings, Merlino discovers his mentor, a fairy who had been captured in Dragon Horn and Mike had believed was dead, Alayna was still alive and Merlino will go to hell [literally] and back to rescue her.

I like the fact that each book can be read as a stand alone. They are ended with only a hint of what might come next but nothing so cliffhanging that you are compelled to read the next book unless you enjoy the series and want more Merlino adventures.

Benjamin Allen does a fine job of narrating it. He has a pleasant voice and speaks in a manner that does not have me reversing the audio so that I can hear a section again and better absorb what had just been said. It definitely spoils the story a bit when I have to do that so appreciate it greatly when I don't have to. His voice is pleasant enough to listen to. He does not over dramatize.

If you are looking for a really entertaining urban fantasy this is one to try.

I received an advance copy of this audible book and am very appreciative of it this in now way influenced my opinion or my voluntary review.

Having all 3 books makes for a very long listen

Struggled to finish, due to its length. Very good narration. If you're into fantasy with wizards, dragons, fairies, demons, etc. and you've got the time to devote to it, then I recommend it.

Couldn't finish it.

The story may have picked up, but the performance made listening hard for me. The narrator's performance just didn't fit the author's words. The story may have gotten better, but I just couldn't listen any longer. Others may not be affected by this, may not be bothered by this at all.

Fantastic Supernatural Series

This is a fast paced supernatural series. The main lead Mike is snarky and does not play by the rules but he tries to do the right thing. I live in NJ so I enjoyed the setting close to my home. I was intrigued from the start and really enjoyed all of the magical creatures Mike comes in contact with during his journey. The narrator does a wonderful job bringing the story to life. I look forward to more in this series and by this author

Absolutely Loved these books

I loved these books. I actually started the wrong way and listened to the other books first, but now everything makes much more sense. I loved the writing and the character development. I love how Mike overcame everything in his way. I can't wait for more books with these characters.

couldn't finish this

I really wanted to like the book but I just couldn't finish it. I couldn't even listen to the end of book 1.
Not even sure why, I don't think the narrator did a great job or maybe it was the storyline. I have read many uban fantasy books and up until this have been hooked and eager to listen, but this just didn't have the same effect on me as Bill the Vampire The Tome of Bill, Quincy Harker Demon Hunter , or Prof Croft series.

full of adventure and drama

i wish i had listened to this book before the scarlet dragon series as this starts before and combines characters.
i love the banter between everyone and the struggles and fights he strives through.
my only complaint is that it doesn't combine the same ending as the dragon series as i expected it to so i hope the next book will do that.
