"I was in 'the void,'" she writes, "a vast emptiness that fills your heart and lungs and restricts your ability to think or even breathe." Her friend Adam Grant, a psychologist at Wharton, told her there are concrete steps people can take to recover and rebound from life-shattering experiences. We are not born with a fixed amount of resilience. It is a muscle that everyone can build.

Publisher's Summary
This Blue Ridge Mountain series does not feature your typical romance stories. Most romances tend to be about the relationship, while this series is about the journey to the relationship.
Each book in the series follows characters in different forms of loss. One is financial loss, another is declining health, and the other is the loss of livelihood. The bonus story The Atlanta Heiress is a mystery waiting to be solved!

Makes a lot of Sense.
Kimberly Grell writes a vast amount of poetry and romance that is satisfying and contains a great reread value. Kimberly is the most accessible teacher of the southern romance books that I have encountered. Meredith Nash's narrative style communicates vast knowledge in a tone that invites honest self-reflection and compassion for others. The Path Between Us is a brilliant combination of story-telling,fact sharing, and growth invitations to open the reader's eyes to how those they love see the world.
The journey from loss to a relationship, not branching into the time spent in a relationship. 4 short novellas with a Georgia setting. These stories have such great characters and an up and running story-line. I'd love to see each of these expanded into novels where we get to see the relationship progress as well as this time leading up to it. I liked the slight overlaps between stories where you see hints of the others poking their heads through.
Do you want to love better? Do you desire deeper connection in relationships? Do you long for insightful empathy toward people you disagree with? To be honest, I felt like I was going up a roller-coaster and just as we reached the peak, the story ended (for the first 3). That's why I docked the review a star. This book can be a wonderful guide in that journey!

This is a wonderful set of books.
My favorite is Georgia Bound where Lola finds out that the pastry shop she inherited is no longer thanks to an underhanded deal of the building owner. With no choice but to start over she uses a dart to land on a map to show her the destination of her new beginnings. You will be drawn in not only with this story but all the others as well. They are well written with character that you can identify with. It was great being able to finish one book and start the next without interruption. Great characters and stories. I laughed and cried. Her stories are so different even though you know sometimes what is going to happen before you get to the end. They are easy to read and not a lot of characters to keep track of. I will be reading more of Kimberly Grell's books

I like the "sleuthing" aspect.
I loved the small town and the characters. The author did a great job of setting them in my mind with her words. It is a great story that is just light enough to be an easy fun read.
This series is filled with refreshing stories that will have you on the side line encouraging characters to their happily ever after. Four stories that are short but well written. The stories are Georgia Bound, Georgia On My Mind, I Left My Heart In Georgia, and The Atlanta Heiress. I enjoyed this series and just love having them all in one collection. They are good well-written books with good interesting storylines that quickly pull you in. Today's life tend to be complicated with very little interaction with ones own history let alone that of the people living past one. This charming series take one back to the basics, where every one know one another and accept each other, warts and all.
I felt like I was going up a roller-coaster and just as we reached the peak, the story ended for the first 3 stories. And last bonus story "The Atlanta Heiress" is a mystery one.

A Journey well taken
This is a wonderful set of short stories set in small towns in Georgia. These stories have such great characters and an up and running storyline.
This series is filled with refreshing stories that will have you on the side line encouraging characters to their happily ever after. Such a heartwarming story. It’s very romantic and love the small town location. The uniqueness of the hereditary nature that was revealed, the theme of being comfortable in your skin, accepting yourself, and letting others in also the mystery aspect are the real beauty of this short novellas. I also have all of the companions to this book Kimberly Grell wrote through the years and I would recommend it.
I read each of these books as they were released and really enjoyed them. Now they are all in a set and you don't have to wait for the next one to be published.

Especially love this series.
I grew up in the South so for me perhaps it was a taste of home. I especially love the Blue Ridge Mountain Series series. You can read the books as stand a lone; but you get so much more when you read them in the series. You have a deeper understanding with what is going on with these families and you get to know them. Its a joy to revisit the characters that you have read about in books. I stayed up all night just to finish reading it for me this book deserves more than five stars and I cannot wait for the next book. I enjoyed this book just as I have enjoyed every one of the other books that I have read from this author. This book is beautifully written with captivating characters that you will fall in love with. It’s filled with plenty of laughs out moments as well as the ones that will bring you to your knees.

3 out of 4
I wasn't fond of the narrator's voice initially and it took some time to adjust. Luckily the the first story was interesting enough to look past that. Actually, stories 1, 2, and 3 flowed easy from one to the next. By the time I got the Christy in number 4, I couldn't maintain interest and have discontinued reading.
I typically won't review a book that I don't complete but since this was a series in one, I made the exception.

Not your typical romance
This Blue Ridge Mountain series is not your typical romance. Whether you were the result of financial loss, another is declining health, and the other is the loss of livelihood, had trauma from a loved one dying or being very ill while you were growing up, or were dumped by a family member, boyfriend/girlfriend, or spouse. I have read too many books on this subject. This is the one I wish I would have found FIRST cause I get my desired stories in 1 book. I can't say enough good things about Kimberly Grell. I also recommend you read her book "Turned." Thank you so much Kimberly, from the bottom of my heart for this 4 short valued stories.

A Southern Romance Book.
These stories have such great characters and each story follows characters in different forms of loss.. I loved the bakery angle and the uniqueness of the hereditary nature that was revealed. I liked the theme of being comfortable in your skin, accepting yourself, and letting others in. I like the art focus and mystery aspect. Exciting adventure and intrigue. I liked the slight overlaps between stories where you see hints of the others poking their heads through. Most importantly I liked this story the best as it felt full and complete, though not a romance. Thank you Grell! I'm going to read the "Turned- The vampire story" next.
