Story
I never saw it coming...the bones...the magic...the betrayal. It’s no longer a question of who I can trust - the answer is no one. Now, it’s about survival. I’m in the heart of the Order, trying to solve a series of mysterious disappearances, while doing everything that I can not to become bait. Enemies are circling, and they can’t seem to decide if they see me as a pawn or as a threat. Oh, and there’s that little issue of being tethered to Rogan, who I now want to kill. It’s time to figure out just what I’m capable of though. Because fool me once...shame on you.

Story
I am a latent wolf shifter. Or so I thought. Then, life as I knew it changed in a flash - or more accurately, an electrocution. I’ve woken up in a strange place, surrounded by strange people who hate me. They’re in the middle of a war, and I look like I belong on the wrong side of it. If that’s not enough to qualify as a really bad day, I now have wings and a strange animal to figure out because it turns out that there’s not a damn latent thing about me.

It’s never a good combo to be broke and desperate. You do stupid things. Like accidentally sign your soul over to hell. When I interviewed for a new security job, I didn’t bat an eye that it was for a literal graveyard shift...headstones and all. I mean, at the hourly rate they were offering, who cares? I got this. Turns out, I’m not guarding a graveyard like I thought. It seems I’ve just walked my broke ass into protecting a gate to hell. Yeah...I don’t got this.

I’ve been waiting my whole life to get my wolf. But now that the time is here, I need to run. "Fated love means nothing when we can avoid extinction. One tiny sacrifice will appease the shadows. It's a shame, really. You've always been my pretty little monster." Those were the last words I heard from my Alpha, my fated mate, before his Beta tossed me off the cliff into a land of no return: Demon Valley, the place where no human or wolf shifter survives. Legends claim there's an escape from the shadowy, demon-infested haven, but no one has ever returned to confirm the truth. Except me.

Publisher's Summary
I never thought in a million years that the bones would choose me.
The power, the magic, was supposed to go to someone else in the family. I was counting on it.
But now my Grammy Ruby is gone, and here the bones sit on my kitchen table.
I thought bitter relatives would be my biggest problem. But I’ve barely had time to find a familiar before trouble comes a-knocking. The kind that possesses smoldering green eyes and a smile that can turn any woman dumb.
His name is Rogan Kendrick, and he’s certain that someone is hunting down and taking my kind.
According to him, I’m next.
This is a world that I never wanted to be a part of, but magic gives no f--ks and takes no prisoners.... At least we have that much in common.
I don’t know what my ancestors were thinking when they chose me, but I’m going to give them a run for their money. My name is Lennox Osseous, but you can call me the Bone Witch.

Fascinating intro to this world.
I absolutely love this new world that I somehow stumbled upon. Lennox is a awesome FMC, that’s very easy for readers to connect with. I loved listening to her make threats. They were awesome and hilarious. I laughed throughout the book.
Rogan is the main male character and he really is a a-hole and I hope he pays dearly or redeems himself greatly in the next book.
I enjoyed the mystery surrounding the story and I hope we find out more about the disappearances in the next installment. I loved reading all about the ley lines and how there is bone and blood magic. Absolutely mesmerizing.
I absolutely LOVED the audiobook. The narrator, Amy Hall did a phenomenal job narrating. I felt like she brought the story alive and it felt like I was almost watching a move. I could easily envision the emotions of the characters and see the scenes. She had the perfect voice for Lennox.

The Osseous Chronicles
The Bone Witch (The Osseous Chronicles, Book One) swayed me in with its sleek cover, cool title and intriguing synopsis. A urban fantasy novel that you will escape into this fictional world. A writing style that drenches witty banter into the fantasy. A underlying Mystery sheathed into the plot. It dies end with a cliffhanger which is totally fine as I enjoy the anticipation that leads into other books in series. I personally didn't feel a connection with the characters and if I get a chance to listen to the next audio I will relisten first.
Amy Hall's performs the characters perspectives really well. Her inflection is smooth and easy listening. She brought out the story and the characters to a reality like state.

F-Bomb Bonanza
I would have given this a higher rating if the F-bomb hadn't been used ad nauseum. I mean I am no prude, but wow! This got to the point of eye-rolling ridiculousness. I started to feel like I was in the commercial where the actors only say the word "free," except this word was the other f-word.
That being said, the narrator was good and the story line was good. I did enjoy both of those. Lennox was funny and witty at times and the current pop culture references were great. If the constant and unnecessary use of the F-word were toned down, it would be a much, much better listen. I am debating on whether or not to listen to the rest of the series, because I don't like books that end on a cliffhanger and not know the outcome, which is how this one ended.

if you like urban bad girls in magic....
it's a good book
it even caused me to cry. but ending before anything of the Main plot is settled is really my most hated type of serial. it had the story to be as good as a Rachel Morgan or Harry Dresden if it finished. its not a LOTR where it cliff hangs but so much has happened its okay. I done know of it's worth the price of multiple credits when th oi s could have been one really long book instead of three.
but it's still a good listen

SUPERB narrator!
Stay with me - this is a positive review! Not my usual kind of thing, or style of writing. I’m a bit of a fuddy-duddy with writing and language and have previously written off other modern fantasy novels I’ve tried as I’ve found them tedious. Bored with all the vampires I suppose. But I have to say that the narrator Amy Hall was absolutely wonderful! Her reading and style gripped me from the beginning and I polished the whole thing off in a couple of days. I can see the characters in my mind (I love Hoot especially) and I feel like I’ve watched a film. As for the writing, the descriptions of Lennox’s magical feelings and bone-empathy are fantastic. There were so many surprises, none of the usual cliches, and I thoroughly loved it. Perfect escapism. Strapping in for Book 2 right now!

Fun and flawless
Ivy Asher has such an enjoyable writing style. Don´t really want to add anything to this statement. Just finished listening to The Bone Witch, and am just stuck there. Happily dazed.
Love the story, it is phenomenal. So well written in every way. The characters are great, love the heroine, the storyline has unexpected twists and turns, not a dull moment in sight, light and fun, even when something not that great is happening in the story (how is that even possible?) … Interesting, fun, sane and unpredictable storyline all the way. To add to all that, Amy Hall´s narration is flawless.

Knocked my socks off
I have been in a bit of a book slump lately so I didn't have much hope when I picked up this book but WOW was I pleasantly surprised. It has been written so well, the humour scattered throughout the book is a perfect relief for the rest of the drama going on in this thoroughly thought out plot and it's so original. This isn't a perfect love story which makes so much more relatable and there is just the right amount of angst and mystery to keep you hooked. The performance was phenomenal and I listened to the entire series in 3 days.

Good, interesting and appealing storyline, which introduced a wide cast and settings, I was pulled in from the start. Told from Lennox's point of view, the story carried me along. Good narration by Amy Hall further enhanced my enjoyment. 💖💖💖💖💖

So good
Lennox isn’t prepared for what she finds when she comes home from work ,when she realises she been chosen by the bones her life will never be the same. The first meeting between Lennox and Rogan isn’t the best but you can feel the tension between them from the start. When he tells her what’s really going on she knows there’s more to come that she’s not going to like. Amy Hall narrated it perfectly and I’m looking forward to book 2.

Emotional Rollercoaster
An amazing start to the series, an absorbing plot that hooks you right away and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I loved Lennox and Hoot, not sure whether I love or/and hate Kendrik, but his skunk brings some fun to the tale, I don't think we've seen the last of Lennie's horrible relatives though! I definately can't wait for the next instalment, it can't be soon enough.

struggled to finnish
I've read some of her other books and enjoyed them but this one is not for me, I didn't like the storyline or the characters inane ramblings and I didn't like the narrator.

excellent!
excellent, Amy Hall did a great job, however would have been 10x better done as a duet narration.

Enjoyed
I did enjoy reading these books (all 3 in the series), at times I did wish it would speed up but honestly don't let that deter you. It's still a great book to read and enjoyed the story line throughout.
