“Kind,” said the boy.

Critic Reviews

“The world that I am required to inhabit is this one. But the world that I long to inhabit is the one that Charlie Mackesy has created - a world of infinite kindness, wisdom, mutual care and tenderness, and true love between real friends.” (Elizabeth Gilbert, New York Times best-selling author of Eat, Pray, Love and Big Magic

Beautiful

There are precious few pure souls in the world, and Charlie Mackesy is one.
Filled with timeless wisdom and beautiful illustrations, 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse' is a wonderful book for young and old alike. Charlie does an amazing job not only reading the text, but describing his illustrations as well. One really does feel as though they are alongside the boy and his friends.

Absolute work of art, philosophy and God!

The Boy, The Mole, the Fox and the Horse. Just letting the title drip from my lips soothes my entire Spirit from the top of my head to the tips of my tingly toes. This book is an absolute blessing. This Audio version of the book is a stand alone from the book. Both a must have experience. But this performance is absolutely perfect A modern day fable to teach us the simple truth of the meaning of life! So simple so beautiful and so just right. Thank you for this book! I love you!

Sweet. Too sweet for me. Also slow.

I am definitely in the minority here, but although I like the ideas and theme of this book (unconditional love, acceptance, friendship) it wasn't my cup of tea. A very sweet story that I bought because staff at my place of employment were all reading it at the same time. This is a story to touch the heart, but I guess I read to engage my head. Also, I had to change the speed to 1.25 for it to feel like a regular person talking.
