If there’s any one thing Pierre and Logan have in common, it’s their ability to invite snap judgements based on shallow views of who they are. Logan is the privileged only daughter of a respected family whose legacy runs long and deep. Pierre is the moody, orphaned son of big screen royalty who couldn’t possibly live up to the prestige of his pedigree. Or maybe not.

Story
Ever have one of those days where life just plain sucks? Welcome to my last three months - ever since I caught my can’t-be-soon-enough-ex-husband cheating with his paralegal. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve lost my NYC apartment, my job, my money, and frankly, my dignity. But the final heartache in the suck sandwich of my life? My great-aunt Maggie died. The only family member who’s ever gotten me. Even after death, though, she’s helping me get back up again. Too bad that bravado only lasts as long as it takes to drive into Huckleberry Hills. And see the house.

Publisher's Summary
A smart and delightful romantic comedy featuring fabulous female friendships and "a great love story" (Jasmine Guillory, best-selling author of Party of Two).
Samiah Brooks never thought she would be "that" girl. But a live tweet of a horrific date just revealed the painful truth: She's been catfished by a three-timing jerk of a boyfriend. Suddenly, Samiah - along with his two other "girlfriends", London and Taylor - have gone viral online. Now, the three new besties are making a pact to spend the next six months investing in themselves. No men and no dating. For once, Samiah is putting herself first, and that includes finally developing the app she's always dreamed of creating. Which is the exact moment she meets the deliciously sexy Daniel Collins at work. What are the chances? But is Daniel really boyfriend material, or is he maybe just a little too good to be true?
"A smart, funny digital-age romance about real women living in the real world. Couldn't put it down!" (Abby Jimenez, USA Today best-selling author of The Happy Ever After Playlist)

I wanted to like this, really I did!
I spend a lot of my time listening to audio books and have come to the conclusion that ratings matter. I do not select my books easily and read through several reviews before making my selections.
This book was highly rated by some that had equally high reviews for other titles I enjoyed. Wow. How this book scored so high is an absolute mystery to me.
I didn't hate this book, but it was more like a predictable Hallmark movie than a good story. Everyone was too perfect that it was just too, too sticky sweet. Unrealistic beyond acceptable. The physical scenes were too graphic for my taste, not to mention ridiculous.
I liked some of the narration, but other times, the fluctuation was completely off or way over the top with enthusiasm where it wasn't warranted.
I stuck through it only because I hadn't downloaded another book and listened while I traveled. Ugh.

I couldn't even finish it
I tried really hard to finish this book but I couldn't. It pulls you in with the viral incident in the beginning and then it just draaags. And the narrator..... I just couldn't. I wanted to love it because the premise seemed interesting but the story didn't move. I might come back to it one day but for now it's returned. The one good thing I will say is that I love love stories with Black professional characters in it. The genre needs the diversity

I didn't enjoy the voice of the reader. Her voice representation for each character was a bit exaggerated. The title was also a bit misleading on the actual plot of the book IMO. I expected to spend more time reading about the relationship between the woman and their Boyfriend project pact when in actuality the story line was about Daniel and Samiah.

Beautiful female friendships.
I had made a promise to myself that I would make a point of reading books by more diverse writers and characters. I fell in live with this cover, so I decided to give it a try. There are so many parts to this book that I adored. The true understanding and explanation of not only a woman in the tech world, but also a woman of color. I love the focus it has on this and the importance of having to be perfect and being the one to help to make the change happen. This is a love story, but it really is a story of the importance of female friendships and the need to have supportive female friendships. I loved getting to see these women evolve from random meeting to true best friends. I also adored how all the women were successful and have their own story. It is rare to have real friendships like that. I promise you there is romance in this, but it is not your typical romance. This story is not at angsty, there is no big horrible ordeal at the end. This story is more about Samyah and her growth. Do not read if you are looking for a super hot steamy romance. This book is more than that. My one negative is I do t love when the female narrator narrates for both the male and female POV. I wish they would have used a male narrator for his parts. I think I would’ve enjoyed this book more if I would have read instead of listened.

Great contemporary AA romance
The narrator did a great job with this audible romance. Nice to listen to a narrator who gets the language and intonations of black women. The story was no different than current romance listens. Just nice to relate with the characters on a deeper level. Keep up the good work FR. Hope the other female characters get their own stories soon.
