Publisher's Summary

The third title in Genevieve Cogman's clever and exciting The Invisible Library series, The Burning Page is an action-packed literary adventure!

When it's your job to save the day - where do you start?

Librarian spy Irene has standards to maintain, especially while on probation. And absconding from a mission via a besieged building doesn't look good. But when her escape route home goes up in flames, what's a spy to do? However, it seems gates back to the Library are malfunctioning across dozens of worlds. Worse still, her nemesis Alberich is responsible - and he plans to annihilate the Library itself.

Irene and assistant Kai are posted to St Petersburg to help combat this threat. Here Alberich emerges, as Irene tries to save her friend Vale and foil assassination attempts. Then one incredibly dangerous opportunity to save the Library emerges. Saving herself would be a bonus....

Irene's adventures feature stolen books, secret agents and forbidden societies - think Doctor Who but with librarian spies! Continue the bookish magic with The Lost Plot.

Another great book

First I cannot imagine another reader. She does male and female voices so wonderfully. I book 1, I liked the characters. But now I am fully vested. They are developed wonderfully and the foreshadowing makes me what to keep reading.

a lot going on

I wouldn't multitask while this one plays unless you like repeating chapters. Well worth it though.

Delightful

Cogman continues to delight with the library stories. Characters and storyline remain in line with each book. On to book four!

Loved it!

This series would make a great dramatic film or box set. The excellent narration from Kristin does help with the imagination along with the descriptive and well defined writing by Genevieve.
Thank you both.

I do love these books

Although I have to say I struggle with the narrator who I feel detracts considerably. She’s not fluent and some of her voices for characters are very odd. I feel the books would be so much better if they had a different narrator or you actually read the paper version as opposed to listening to them.

The stories themselves are a great romp!

Absolutely Brilliant

A bit slow to start as per usual, but once it gets going it REALLY gets going! I have so many theories!!! Everytime I finish a book in this series I immediately want to get the next one, and I'm currently having to force myself to wait the seven days until I get my next month's credit.
