Story
Chad Anders doesn’t know why mousy Cynthia Henley trips all over her tongue when she’s around him. Nor does he understand his undeniable attraction to this good girl. Wild and sexy is his type, like the dream girl he caught a glimpse of years earlier, whom he’s never forgotten. Cynthia’s superpower is invisibility, especially with men. But when playboy rancher Chad hires her, she’s got a chance to shine. Until she learns of his fascination with a mysterious dream girl, who was actually nothing more than a shy teenager on an ill-advised dare all those years ago.

For three years they've pretended there's nothing between them anymore. Jazz is finally ready to move on with the rest of her life.

Bookstore owner Kerry Emerson finally seems to be back in control of her life. Her failure of a marriage firmly in her rearview mirror and her recent business expansion a success, she is in charge of her own future. One that is looking better than ever. Publisher's Summary
When plucky single mother Leda Plett goes next door to retrieve her wandering pooch, she doesn’t expect to find a handsome stranger lounging about like he owns the place. She certainly doesn’t expect him to go all "white knight" about her deadbeat ex or her knees to go all wobbly at his sexy smile.
Rodeo-star-turned-agent Eric Anders is used to managing people, and clearly the boots-and-sundress-wearing mouthy mama needs someone to manage her. He wants to help; her spirited spark and quick wit have nothing to do with it.
But when Eric’s good intentions end up bringing only hurt and humiliation, he’s forced to face the fact that he doesn’t always know best. Leda is stronger and wiser than he knew, and his arrogance may have just cost him the one girl he now can’t live without.

meh, kind of boring
she was fiery. he was sweet. and older. but they only did a couple of things together and then he was all in. I think the depth of characters outpaced the plot. I mean the female lead was too complex for the plot. the male lead was under developed. nether if them grew together. they were arranged together by the author which is just no fun.

I tried
I really did try to like this story. Leda was just so unlikeable. I didn’t like her from the last story and she didn’t get any better in this one. If anything she got so much worse. And the ridiculous made up swear words? It made her see SO childish. Eric seemed like a nice guy and she just was not. It made the story so hard to get through. If I didn’t have this OCD thing about leaving a story unfinished I would have walked away early on. But I struggled through it. Not one of my favorites written by her.

Great story
I enjoyed this story. It was. Novella so the length and content was appropriate. It had the potential to be longer if more detail especially around the main characters when getting intimate.
