Publisher's Summary
A curse, a ghost, and a painting that goes bump in the night might just be the key to their perfect romance.
Madeline knows firsthand that life rarely goes according to plan. If it did, her husband would still be alive, Scotland wouldn’t be her home, and she wouldn’t be living in the 17th century. Hardened by grief and broken dreams, Madeline hopes that a new life for her and her daughter might be enough to pull her from her years’ long rut. Despite her best efforts in a new century, little changes. As the months pass, her wish for a happier tomorrow seems unlikely to come true. But when a newcomer with ties to the castle arrives in the village, Madeline’s interest is piqued for the first time in years as she discovers maybe there’s more reason to be hopeful than she originally thought.
Expert stone mason Duncan never dreamed that accepting a seemingly harmless painting in exchange for his work would lead to such trouble. But after nights of no sleep make it clear that his new possession is indeed haunted, Duncan sets out to return the wretched piece of art back to its home at McMillan Castle. Determined only to rid himself of the art, Duncan’s plans are derailed when he meets a lass so bonny he finds himself eager to accept work that will keep him at McMillan Castle longer than planned. As time passes and his feelings grow, Duncan discovers that perhaps his home is no longer the place he left behind.
Is their love strong enough for the two of them to overcome their baggage? Or will the story end with the curse that brought them together?

Haunted Novella
I am a fan of all the Morna matchmaking stories and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s a quick novella with a spooky vibe. The author, Bethany Claire, brings the characters to life and I feel like I have gotten to know them through each of the books. I look forward to when new books are released because it feels like I am there in the story. I The audio version is great. The narrator does an excellent job with the characters and accents. I highly recommend this novella even if you haven’t read the prior books in the series.

It’s been too long since I’ve had a new Morna story. This one held my interest and didn’t disappoint. McMillan castle is being haunted and Moran is called in to help. My only complaint is that I didn’t want it to end.

Story
Olivia Bailey and her sister are in dire need of some time away from their work-driven lives. Neither realized how strenuous running their own business would be. Eager for a change, the girls set off for a trip to Scotland. But things quickly go awry when an unlikely incident sends Olivia off the side of the Quiraing. Rather than meeting her near-certain death, she opens her eyes to find herself transported through time and hidden away in a castle with two of the most damaged, but handsome, men she’s ever laid eyes on.

Story
When the sudden and suspicious death of Eloise’s mother points to forbidden magic, Eloise is determined to bring her mother’s murderer to justice. She will stop at nothing to find the killer...even if the clues lead right to the palace gates and the prince’s manservant Kaven. He is irrational, volatile, and prone to knocking women off horses. Given his personality, it should be easy to find the proof she needs to place him in irons. However, when dark magic is used, nothing is as it seems, and Eloise is about to learn that nightmares often hide behind fairy tale lives.
