Publisher's Summary

Michael returns to fulfill a promise to his love, but the world isn't the same place.

Michael, the Archangel himself, has returned after 150 years rejuvenating in the Etheric Dimension.

Now, the most powerful male vampire the world had ever known is back.

The problem? The world went through an apocalypse, and what little honor and justice that previously existed is gone. Further, his love has left to the stars somewhere, fighting for those on Earth.

Now, Michael has to figure out where he is, where he needs to go, help those who need help, and figure out how to follow in his love's path. Because if there is one thing that honor demands, it is that he make good on his promise to Bethany Anne.

Those feeding themselves on the backs of others have very little time to realize an important fact.

This Dark Messiah has little compunction about killing.

As noted in other series set in the Kurtherian Universe, there is cursing in this book, occasionally, it's funny, too.

Narrator is so bad hes bringing down a good story

What did you love best about The Dark Messiah?

MA is a great writer and I love the main story this side story is almost as good.

How could the performance have been better?

The inconstant performance is astounding. At times it isn't so bad but the voice for Michael is ... bad most of the time and unintelligible at others. Oh and a big pet peev of mine is Jean Dukes is FEMALE, he keeps saying John or pronouncing it like "Jean Claude Van Damme" so he couldn't of ever read or listened to the main series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Irritation at narrator couldn't even finish the book

Any additional comments?

Read the book since it's good but skip the Audiobook.

great story, iffy on the narrator

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I wouldn't say the book was not for me. I am a fan of audiobooks and beyond the story, the narrator brings a lot to the story. But I still loved the story, enough, I can forgive the narrator some.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Character? maybe Characters is the right word.

What didn’t you like about Chris Abernathy’s performance?

he has a great voice, but not enough range to accommodate the female parts, imo. And a lot of the parts sound the same.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

hope?

Any additional comments?

keep them coming.

Great Read and Narrator

I enjoyed this book. At first I was hesitant to get it because of the reviews. However when I gave a listen for the sample: I really enjoyed it! My only complaint would be that the voices for Yuko and Jacqueline are a little more gruff than his other female voices. Other than that, you can clearly tell who is speaking and when. I appreciate the fact that he Does give the characters accents to try and match their nationality. I recomend getting this if you are on the fence about it!

Awesome

I haven't been paying attention since the end of the TQB series. I was super happy to find these 4 books about Michael's return. This first book really sets the stage, lots of action and righteous ass kicking. Looking forward to the next book.

The new Michael

Michael is back and he has to contend to many changes, including his own. As he heads East he will collect some followers. He will also leave a path of destruction. Death is now his last resort but people just don't realize they are bringing this destruction upon themselves.

He's baaaack!!!

Not going to lie, I wanted to fight Mr. Anderle when he took Michael from us, but he has redeemed himself! I have already read this series on Kindle but loved it so much I wanted the audible version as well. If that isn't a recommendation, I don't know what to tell you. I love our Dark Messiah!!!

terrible narrator

totally ruined by an inept narrator, I do wonder why these people are used when they just can't handle a range of voices

Great

I received a free code and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Michael the Archangel is back after 150 years in the Etheric.

While he was gone the world went through an apocalypse and Bethany Anne has gone into space to try and save earth.
Michael now has to figure out where he is and who needs his help whilst he’s trying to get back to BA.
Love this new Michael his sarcasm is just brilliant.

Michael is BACK

BA's bad arsed lover has returned and those that don't follow BA's creed better dig a deep hole and hide. Whats not to like . the Authors and narrator are excellent . . . its pure escapism at its best . . . enjoy
