Royal flush….

Prince Adalard Ha’darra’s mission is simple - stay out of trouble while on Earth. His plans to enjoy his time with a few pleasurable distractions change when his transport is sabotaged, forcing him to land miles from Paul Grove’s remote ranch. When a stranger stops to give him a lift to his destination, he sees the colors of her aura and is stunned to discover his mate!

Samara Lee-Stephens has lived with the Lee-Stephens curse her entire life. Determined to break it, she focuses on earning enough money to one day leave her family’s reputation behind. She is furious when her stupid brothers drag her into their messed-up lives - by losing her in a poker game! As if her life wasn’t complicated enough, she soon finds herself fascinated by the Grove ranch’s newest client, who claims to be an alien prince!

Adalard and Samara discover that time may change them, but not their enemies. Can Adalard and Samara survive the challenges that threaten to tear them apart, or will their enemies succeed despite the precautions and sacrifices they’ve taken?

Different

The storyline was okay but had to get used to David’s narration. Prince Adalard’s voice sounded like Bruce Lee; I’m used to hearing a more husky sounding voice like Sam Elliott. For this reason, I didn’t really enjoy the story. Change narrators and I believe it would be better received.

Good Story with Small blip

This story shows S.E. Smith’s growth as a writer. Good character development, the story universe continues to grow. Intriguing story with several storyline climax points which was fun - get over one hurdle to find another. Thankfully this story reduced the sex chapters (which I skip). This story completes in this book with tantalizing leads that could be developed into future stories but no cliff-hangers. Its always nice to see prior story characters and get an update on what’s happened after their story ends.

Recording has an issue in chapter 40 where the publisher did a very poor editing job. Hope - if they fix it - I’ll get an updated copy.

good story bad narrator

Good storyline. If I weren't so investing in the this series I wouldn't have listened to this book because of David Brenin He changed the voice of Adalard to a hi piched nasal whine. This voice should have been better used for the bad guy. I hope that this narrator isn't used in more books.

brother two

Adalard is the second Ha’darra brother to find his mate on Earth. This book is best enjoyed if you’ve first read the Dragon Lords, Sarafin, Dragonlings and Ha’aven stories. Otherwise this book could be a bit confusing as this overlaps past story timelines.
The ending is set up for Arrow’s story - brother three and Adalard’s twin. There’s also room for Samara’s friend Bear, a really nice Earth guy that we want to see happy.
Brenin does his usual excellent job with narration.

Good book

I enjoyed the book but the narrator was definitely not the right person for the voice of Samara. The accent he affected was horrible and had I not wanted to learn how the story ended, I wouldn’t have finished the book. Each time Samara spoke made me cringe through the entire book. But, other than that, it was good.

Another Hit!!!

I'm so glad it came out as an audio book so quickly. I love listening to audio books while I'm in my craft room! I can't wait for the next books, there are so many storylines that need finishing!
