Publisher's Summary

You know those guys who play poker for millions of dollars on television? I'm not one of those guys. Instead, I risked my life on a nightly basis playing in underground poker games on Long Island and in Charlotte. This story is about how I managed to survive, but just barely.

The Dark Side adventure continues with A Darker Side of the Felt.

Great Read!!! Very Entertaining

I am very happy that I downloaded this book! From beginning to end I was entertained! As a small stakes poker player I was able to relate to some of the situations and found other situations in the book hilarious. The book was about poker but was definitely not your typical poker book that bores you to death with to much hand analysis! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is into poker, but not looking for your typical drawn out strategy book.

Surprised Me

This surprised me. I really liked it. Stories about playing poker in underground games. I bought the other two: The Darker Side of the Felt and The Burning Felt.

Poker players will dig this.

Another great book

I didn't know what to expect when I started this book. This is the 4th book I've listened to from Tyler and they have all been great. From an honest story standpoint this is the best so far that I've listened to. The Perfect Range is still the best strategy book with Poker Blog and Poker Notes being good advice/strategy too. There are a lot of ups and downs in this book and you really feel for Tyler. Like any good story though the ending isn't as bleak as you might assume. It's a must read.

A very fun read (listen)

I have read (listened) to many of Tyler’s books and have LOVED each one for different reasons. This one, as well as a couple of others, was read by the same person which makes for a sense of familiarity. His ability to tell a poker story makes you feel you are living it with him. I was hanging on every word. Well done, sir!!

Worth your time

This book was riveting. As a poker player I was interested in the success and failures throughout the story. The story was written in an honest way, nothing hidden. I felt like I was the player winning and losing pots, meeting villains and heroes, struggling to make the right decisions, and having to deal with difficult interpersonal relationships.

This story was well written. The poker play, the poker characters, and the poker venues were all very believable. There are also subtle references to how to play the game well. Everything fit together nicely.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who plays poker, anyone with an interest in poker, and anyone wanting to read an interesting and riveting book. Enjoy!

Great listen

As a poker player I really loved this book. A perfect mix of humor and excitement/action. The creative scenes and the way they were described made me remember some of the games I played in.

Great Read/Listen!

Yet another great book by Tyler Nals! Guy’s got a way with words and a crazy fun story. I won’t say too much because I hate spoilers and won’t do that to you. Read/listen and enjoy!
