Publisher's Summary

Newly minted doctor Jane McGill is in hell.

Not literally, of course. But between her drug addict patients, sleepless nights on call, and battling wits with the sadistic yet charming Sexy Surgeon, Jane can't imagine an afterlife much worse than her first month of medical internship at County Hospital.

And then there's the devil herself: Jane's senior resident, Dr. Alyssa Morgan. When Alyssa becomes absolutely hell-bent on making her new interns pay tenfold for the deadly sin of incompetence, Jane starts to worry that she may not make it through the year with her soul or her sanity still intact.

Nice light story …

read by a wonderful narrator. Thoroughly enjoyable. Some of the patients are real characters, as are some of the medical staff.

Nice little book! Accurate & witty life of new intern

As a physican myself, I can say this is spot on what it’s like your first month of being a doctor! You do NOT need to be in medical profession to enjoy the audiobook. It’s witty, funny with some sad realities. This is a light reflection of challenges faced by newly minted doctors right after they get their “Dr” title. Narrator gave a great performance.

Absolutely Sensational!

An often realistic account of internship with attending physicians, senior residents, nurses, and patients laced with humor, sadness, and irony. Gabra Zackman gives a fabulous dramatic performance of the story that only she as an accomplished actress could do. Her rendition without question, is the very best of all the audible books I have listened to.

Fun listen - wished it was longer!

This was a very enjoyable listen. I liked how relatable it was, having been through internship myself and thought her situations were very believable. I loved the protagonist's hilarious viewpoints on the different situations she would get herself in and wished that the book was longer. What I didn't understand though was why her registrar and fellow intern disliked her from the start and where the hostility came from. However, overall it was a fun listen and I'm excited that I've found a new author to try out.
