River Erikson is a man on the run. After scenting his true mate, he’s done everything in his power to escape. Just because he was born an omega doesn’t mean he needs to answer fate’s call and drop to his knees for some alpha. Especially not a smug mafioso who thinks way too much of himself. Luckily, his job at STAHP - the vicious vigilante organization that works to police shifters when law enforcement can’t - keeps him busy enough that he can try to forget how his traitorous body reacts whenever a certain muscled Russian is around.

Publisher's Summary
An awkward, traumatized omega and a patient alpha determined to court him properly...fate has a way of righting old wrongs.
Stolen from his mother’s arms and reported stillborn at birth, Tom spent nearly 21 years in structured captivity with other stolen omegas. His brothers. A dozen omegas, each with a secret superpower, who now must learn a whole new skill - how to thrive in a modern world.
Not every brother emerged from their past unscathed, and Tom had the worst of it. His key to survival was a healthy respect for rules. Now that he’s free, he’s still a little bit obsessive and a whole lot compulsive. He’s got anxiety, fear of change...and a list of plans for his future.
None of which involved finding a fated mate.
But if they had? His plans definitely wouldn’t have been to meet his dream alpha while smelling of afterbirth and the blood of an enemy killed in defense of his pregnant brother - the same brother whose child he then had to deliver...post-shift and naked.
If he’d been planning, if he’d made a list and checked it twice, Tom never could’ve designed an alpha more perfectly devoted than the delicious one fate put in front of him during one of the craziest days of his life...an alpha so patient, he insists on courting the skittish omega.
The West Coast Wolves is an mpreg series about five alphas. A small pack of bikers who spent years riding the highways and helping those in need until fate gave them each a pack to lead. This full-length novel is Nick’s story. Prepare yourself for a romantic courtship, a perfect first kiss, and more feels and giggles than you can handle. But then again, this is a Susi Hawke book so what else can you expect?
Possible triggers for child abduction, trafficking both past and present, and haunting memories of past abuse that included both humiliation and the non-penetrative molestation of a teenager by a person in authority.

Nick and Tom
I loved how supportive Nick was of Tom and knew that he couldn’t rush claiming him as Tom suffers from PTSD and gets panic attacks. I love how Tom slowly came out of his shell the more time he spent with Nick and was able to Trust that Nick would listen and support what he had to say. I love that we get to see all the characters from the previous book throughout each book. Nice story. Nick Russo does a great job narrating. I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review.

This is yet another awesome addition to the series
I love the way the writer does a rewind to catch the reader up from the previous books of the series. Alpha Nick who started the biker gang of five second-born, displaced alphas wolves, joins the ranks of gang members Matthias Longclaw and Lucian Smith in finding his destined omega mate. Nick stumbles across Tom, an awkward and skittish omega that was rescued from the child abduction/omega trafficking group that held him and 14 others captive for about twenty years. It becomes obvious Tom was suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder and Nick must proceed slowly before being able to affect a mating bond with him through the claim bite. It seems that Tom endured both humiliation and non-penetrative molestation by the teacher who was part of Master's omega-auctioning scheme.
Being successful in fixing things at Newberry Springs pack, Nick is approached about becoming a territory chief after Ash retires. He agrees to be hired as the assistant chief to enter into the training necessary to step into the position within several years. Alpha mate Tom would have a platform for promoting those things he believes in: educational opportunities for all-pack youth and medically trained staff for every pack. Tom begins to open up about his past experiences and warms to Nick as the trust between them grows.
Territory chief Ash contacts Nick and the others about an omega auction being conducted by a successful business shifter who functioning in the human world. The West Coast wolf decides they will join the enforcers to end the omega trafficking. The omega's who were rescued, including Tom, decide they will join in, each having special gifts that will benefit the operation. West Coast Wolves will jump in on it. They bash up the auction and rescue three omegas--one was a young adult in his early twenties who was up for bidding and two were babies that Nick and Tom were very happy to adopt.
Narrated by the wonderful Nick J. Russo, The Devoted Alpha: West Coast Wolves Book 3 was an incredible listening experience. Susi Hawke is exceptional as ever with these beautiful wolf shifters. This book is so well-balanced with the pacing moving from one exciting event to the other. At times there are quiet moments between Nick and Tom. Then there are the funny times between the omega 'brothers', and there is plenty of action as the shifters right wrongs. The triumph of these second-born wolves as competent, caring wolf leaders is a great refrain that never gets old. Everything about the series is excellent from the eloquent writing describing the world and the conflict, and the awesome characters.

Nick & Tom
An incredible addition to this wonderful series. Nick and Tom are an incredible pairing and I was so glad that they are fated mates. Tom is a very special omega who loves having a plan for everything and following rules. I love how patient and understanding Nick is with him, he truly is the perfect alfa for Tom. They are perfect and incredibly hot together and I loved their journey. The narrator was excellent with his telling of this story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Incredible story -finding love and making a future
Incredible story of finding love and making a future. The narration really brings this story to life and just was so enjoyable.
I love the partnership of these two men, from the very first meeting they worked together with communication and consideration. I was so intrigued with the core of who Nick was and what motivated him. Nick had a very complex idea that he implemented for his pack and I was so impressed with his character. I love his acceptance of Tom and how he courted and created a real relationship with his mate before their mating.
There is so much rich plot and amazing character development in this story that it will really make your heart sing. I loved that we get to see all of our characters from the previous books and I am enjoying how the story is being woven so well.
This is book three of the West Coast Wolves series and would be best to be read in sequence. There is an ongoing story-line arch that adds depth and feels to the characters.

A little emotional
Nick J Russo did an amazing job. I loved how I could tell the difference between each character and he was consistent with the different voices. I really enjoy listening to his narrations.
This story was a little emotional and pulled at my heartstrings. Nick was an amazing Alpha… patient, caring, and understanding. I felt so bad for Tom and his brothers, but getting to know that they slowly grew stronger was all worth it. I’m so glad Tom got a happy ending with a loving Alpha.
I haven’t read the other books in this series, but I do want to read them now as I am eager to know more about these characters.

Another dark story with an HEA
Tom was one of the omegas rescued from the farm where he’d been held – raised to eventually be auctioned off. He’s been taught omegas were to serve alphas. He’d been beaten down – emotionally if not physically. Suddenly he’s free, and all the rules are gone. He’s free to pick his own name. Chart his own path. Follow the learning that will supplement his innate understanding of healing. He delivered a baby in the last book and his story in this book begins with him – naked after just having executed such a miracle. He’s a mess but then he scents his fated mate.
Not the most auspicious beginning.
Nick, said alpha, is undaunted. He’s been running with his group of wayward alphas in a motorcycle club up and down the West Coast of California. One by one, those alphas – many second born sons – are finding their calling. Nick’s purpose has been to help a community, but he’s not drawn to the kind of leadership necessary to rule a pack. Then an opportunity lands in his lap and he suddenly has a purpose in life. Well, a purpose beyond wooing his fated mate. Nick recognizes Tom’s need for order. He reacts with kindness and understanding for the obsessive-compulsive tendencies. He also perceives Tom’s lack of trust in alphas – especially when it comes to sexuality. Nick never pushes, and eventually Tom reveals what happened to him as a teenager.
Heartbreaking.
But a bond forms. Then they are called upon to help, and boy do they get involved. Their entire lives change in the blink of an eye – for the better. Suddenly they have the family they both crave.
These are very dark books touching tough topics, but they are also books about second chances, redemption, and finding a way to be happy despite your upbringing. And Nick J. Russo narrates these stories brilliantly and I’m so glad he’s part of the project. Two more stories to go. I can’t wait.

Devotion at it's finest
Tom has had so much heartache and trauma in his life that the last thing he was looking for was a mate but there Nick was. The best way to describe their story is full of understanding and devoted to each other's needs. I absolutely loved every moment of this story and so will you.

Nick and Sawyer!
It’s that time for Nick to find his mate. Although Nick got the hardest pack, he doesn’t mind tending to it and providing a better life for his pack. When he goes to Lucerne Valley, he finds the pretty omega he can call his mate. I loved Tom and his quirks, and also his caring side. His omega powers make him a great healer. Nick is definitely devoted to Tom and all of those he cares about. I love this series! And even more with Mr Russo narrating it.

Great addition to the series, enjoyed the audio!
The series keeps getting more interesting and addictive :)
Tom had been through through a difficult time, resulting in his need for order in his life, including lists. Nick was very patient with Tom, understanding that Tom needed to get used to the idea of a mate. Their slow-burn story is a continuation of an overall arc, so is best read/listened to in order.
As usual, Nick J Russo does a bang up job with the narration! His voices for the characters suit them and are distinct. Definitely recommend listening to this (and the series).

Tragedy and Triumph
This is another great story from the West Coast Wolves series, After the rescue of the omegas in the prior book, the tale ended with a death, and a childbirth. This story starts there and follows the story of omega Tom, who has a healing gift, and Nick, one of the alpha former bikers who were given new packs in book 1. Tom has a tragic history, kidnapped as a baby and then traumatized by some of his captors' actions. As a result, he is shy, focused on planning and always following the rules, and experiences anxiety when things get overwhelming. Nick was so patient and understanding. He recognized that even though they were fated mates, Tom needed time to decide what he wanted. I loved Nick's approach, using the old tradition of courting. It gave him and Tom a chance to get to know one another better, and gave Tom the time to come to trust Nick. I absolutely loved the growth Tom experienced and how he triumphed over his past. The continuing story of the omega trafficking was also moved along, and more information is revealed about some of the other omega 'brothers.' There is some violence (a.k.a. justice) delivered wolf-style, but I liked that it was brief and not gory or graphic. I love the humor and banter between both sets of 'brothers', and between the mates. Even the violent scene was touched with humor. This is a great listen and I look forward to more in the series.
The narration by Nick Russo is fantastic. The voices for strong alpha Nick and shy Tom suited them perfectly, and the tone, pacing, and emotional delivery were perfect.
I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Creative engaging story with terrific narration
In this book 3 of Susi Hawke's terrific West Coast Wolves series, we meet sweet, broken Tom and his mate, Nick. The story shows us not just a romance between two men who fit, but it shows how patience, kindness, and love can heal trauma. Nick J. Russo provides terrific narration here, with great pacing, diction, and intonation. His voices for Tom and Nick were distinct and matched how I imagined they’d sound. I highly recommend immersion reading on this one or just listening because the narration really does elevate the story.

Patience rewarded
Although this story starts with horrific things that have happened and are happening to Tom as he meets his alpha, Nick, it is actually a story about gentleness. Nick is so mature that he immediately senses that in spite of the fact that he and Tom are fated mates, Tom will require time, attention and lots of TLC in order to learn to be less anxious and fearful of taking any independent action that is "outside the rules". Watching Nick give him both care and space and watching Tom blossom was just lovely and Nick J. Russo's performance was a perfect match for this book. He caught all the delicacy and nuance of their burgeoning relationship as well as the heat.

Tom and Nick!!
The story: this story was super cute. Charlie’s birthing scene is still the craziest birthing scene I’ve read and it was cool to see it from others POV. Tom and Nick’s relationship was great and they showed good chemistry. It was great to see Tom find himself and grow throughout the story. Also seeing the patience and care Nick has towards him, son sweet. I look forward to continuing with the next story.
The Narration: Nick did another great job continuing on with this series. I enjoy stories where the character voices are portrayed the same as it was in previous books.
