Publisher's Summary

The Sunday Times best seller

Four people walked into the dining room that night. One would never leave.

Matthew: the perfect husband.

Titus: the perfect son.

Charlie: the perfect illusion.

Rachel: the perfect stranger.

Charlie didn’t want her at the book club. Matthew wouldn’t listen.

And that’s how Charlie finds himself slumped beside his husband’s body, their son sitting silently at the dinner table, while Rachel calls 999, the bloody knife still gripped in her hand.

Classic crime meets Donna Tartt in this nerve-shredding domestic noir thriller that weaves a sprawling web of secrets around an opulent West London world and the dinner that ends in death.

Don’t pass this by

Unpredictable, well rounded characters and excellent writing. Don’t understand why the ratings aren’t higher. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Just OK

Couldn’t wait for this one to end. Very predictable. Not a horrible listen just not a 4 star either.

Great narration, so-so plot, pick up the pace!

Brilliant narrators Katy Sobey and Marston York do an excellent job together. Starting out at a very good pace, author BP Walter’s “The Dinner Guest” plot starts to drag and then falls flat, though there are ridiculous surprises. I did pay $9+ and am happy I did not waste a treasured credit. I never return books I pay for. Surprisingly, I did manage to finish it.

Boring

Kept trying to like it. But the story was all Ofer the place. 2 hours to go and just can’t finish.

Amazing - slow burning fun

Love the plot device and the set-up. The narrators were perfection - if you like thrillers you need to give this a whirl.

This book is so dumb

I wish I could get the brain cells back that were used to process the information in this book. It’s seriously awful.

Wayyy too much side story, and they are always long and drawn out.

And the way the whole thing played out was just ridiculous.

It held my attention, BUT....

Although it held my attention, I can't say that I liked this book or ANY of the characters. And more than anything... it was just really crude!
I think every one of them (young and old) may have been way past due for some real parenting! I will not be recommending this book... to anyone
