Publisher's Summary

The devastating start to Dr. Harper's career.

I wasn't always like this, you know - paranoid, temperamental, vindictive.

I mean, sure, I've always been a bit....high strung. But, I never used to stalk my therapist patients. Or yell at them. Or hold them captive in my garage.

No, all of that started after the incidents at Lonesome Woods Boarding School.

And I'm not talking about the school shooter.

This was something far more insidious - something....infectious. Like a cancerous disease that tore through the student body, rotting young hearts one by one.

But mental illness can't do that.

Can it?

I came into this profession optimistic and ready to help. I was young, naive, and eager find to the glimmer of good in every patient.

But, after Lonesome Woods, I began to search for evil instead.

This was better than expected; a real surprise.

This audioplay was really well done. I suspect the author of this wonderfully peculiar story is actually a well-known writer using a nom de plume, to disguise thier real identity; it's extremely well written. The plot just twists & twists. I don't want to give anything away, so I can't say much more. All I will say is that even with a somewhat predictable/classic final plot twist, the story manages to surprise (just enough) to leave one delightfully creeped out & satisfied. Even though his other 3 titles didn't really grab me, as a horror fan, I think I will purchase the doctor's titles anyway; I want to see how he twists & adds new elements to the themes & storylines of those classics.

Great, but part of a chapter is missing.

the chapter "promise" cuts off in the middle. you can infer what's missing from the rest of the book, which is great, but I was still bummed out

Love Dr. Harper

I love the Dr. Harper Therapy series and enjoyed this return to the Dr. Harper universe. the Lonesome Woods Boarding School curse was in interesting mystery that kept you on the edge. Who to trust and who not to trust, even if you can't trust yourself. If you are a fan of thrillers and mysteries, check this out and the other Dr. Harper Therapy books.
