Story
Being in charge of her own dungeon instead of just being an Assistant to a Dungeon Core was a unique experience for Tacca GloomLily, especially after her “bad luck” resulted in her soul being sucked into a Core. Thankfully, she persevered through the strange experience and created a dungeon that she knew Raiders would say was suitable for “beginners”, otherwise known as brand-new Raider Clan recruits.

Story
Milton Frederick never had the chance to live out his life as a professional gamer on Earth, mainly because he was abducted by aliens. Unfortunately, he wasn’t returned home after the typical probing associated with such things to tell an unbelievable story to his friends. Instead, he was summarily killed and his consciousness was inserted into a Station Core, a giant, metal, egg-shaped object that could use technology to create traps, Combat Units, and other defenses to protect not just himself, but those he cared about.

Story
Milton Frederick was arguably the best player of Crowned Lieges of Destiny in the entire world. As the strategy coordinator for one of the top guilds, he was beginning to actually make a living from it. That was, until he was abducted by aliens. Severely damaged and confused about what happened to him, he woke up to find himself trapped inside a massive chicken egg on a strange, primitive world filled with curious - and deadly - creatures. Now, in order to survive, Milton has to rely on a snarky, foul-mouthed AI guide to show him what it means to be a Station Core.

Sandra had been a merchant traveling through the human lands of Muriel, though that wouldn’t have been her chosen profession. What she would’ve loved to become was a crafter, producing wondrous creations with her own two hands. Unfortunately, Sandra was born with a deformity in her hands that made them appear frozen in a claw-like pose; as a result, she couldn’t grip anything with any sort of strength or dexterity, meaning that she wasn’t able craft anything but the most simple of things that required very little in the way of hand-based manipulation.

Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with change is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

Story
A girl suddenly vanishes from her world and finds herself drifting in and out of consciousness in a world of pure darkness. The only insight into her precarious situation is a prompt opening before her eyes indicating that the system failed to delete her. The doggedly optimistic and naive teenager, Naomi, is reborn as a monster into a fantastical world governed by the rigid rules of a suspiciously game-like system; a world full of magic and danger where the familiar mingles with the inexplicable.

Publisher's Summary
All that Tacca Gloom Lily ever wanted to be since she was very little was a fairy assistant to a Dungeon Core. After her negatively portentous birth, however, she was never fully accepted by her superstitious peers and instructors at the Dungeon Assistant Preparatory School; nevertheless, she persisted in her studies and graduated at the top of her class.
Unfortunately for her, the “hands-on” training she was supposed to receive from a Mentor and his Bonded Dungeon Core didn’t go the way she would’ve hoped. In fact, the stigma attached to her origins finally made itself known in the form of horrendously “bad luck”; the rotten part of her newly discovered luck was that it adversely affected Cores that she happened to be near, and not just herself.
What can a Dungeon Assistant Fairy do when every Dungeon Core she gets near ends up being destroyed? Tacca had no idea, but a solution eventually presents itself - though it’s one that she never saw coming....
This story contains Dungeon Core elements such as dungeon construction and defense, LitRPG/GameLit mechanics such as character progression and stats, and contains no harems/sexual content or profanity.

Decent story, but.....
Overall I'd say this book is worth a listen. But there is one thing the author does in this book that a lot of litrpg authors do that really irritates me. Its something I call padding. Example of this is when stats are explained, this is used to pad the word count of the book. Its repeated over and over and over again and again. There is no reason to tell me in the same thing in the story or same chapter for that reason, the stats of someone when they haven't changed. In a list of stats strength, agility, charisma, intelligence etc. If any of these change by even 1 point, these authors spend the next 5 - 15 minutes going over the entire character sheet again. And given its a stats based system it happens so many times. Why? there is no other reason than padding the word count. In this book you spend at least 1/3 of the entire book listen to the same things over and over. Its really annoying. If it wasn't for the performance and the general plot being interesting I would have stopped half way through.

Decent book ruined by excessive lists
the story is decently engaging, and the world building is interesting, but the excessively long lists of essentially start blocks that are mostly irrelevant absolutely ruin the pacing and my engagement with the actual story. Seriously, these stupid irrelevant stat readings comes off as desperate filler. Yeah, sure, it's a lit-rpg, but that doesn't mean that a large portion of the book has to be stat blocks.

What if you could munchkin a dungeon?
What if a Dungeon could exploit hideously overpowered but legal combinations of the Game System? In this story we see how unexpectedly awesome that would be. It did start out a little slow, but stick with it. It gets great.

A really interesting take on the dungeon core genre
*book received for free
This is a really interesting spin to the common theme of many dungeon core series that you'll see today. The story revolves around a certain MC with a rather gloomy birth and how she was treated because of it. She eventually graduates from school and is assigned to her mentorship which should last a year and yet it all to goes wrong from the get-go.
This shadowy council than uses her misfortune to its own ends and that's when the real story begins for destiny has plans for our unlucky MC whether she or anyone else is ready for it.
Overall, this is a solid opening to a new series and I'm looking forward to the next one to see where it goes. So, if you like hard-working and clever MC’s then I highly recommend this book for you.

Wonderful twist on a dungeon core novel
Even with only this first book being out, I can tell that I am going to love this series. I really enjoyed that Tacca took every situation and made it her own. If you enjoy dungeon building, intelligent characters making intelligent decisions, and determination to succeed when the odds are against you; then I think you will enjoy this audiobook as much as I did.

Not your average fairy book.
This is the 7th book I've read/listened to by Jonathan Brooks and I'm starting to think that this guy may possibly like dungeons. Possibly.
I'm currently reading two of his other series and they are both about dungeons as the MCs, as well, and I don't know how Brooks does it, but all three series are different AND amazing. And as always, Meili is a gem. Wonderful performance.
This story does not disappoint!
The MC has got bad luck and it's great how Brooks uses that to create this story line.
Great story for all ages! Like the movie Shrek, kids and adults will enjoy it. Quality all the way!
If you like fantasy, dungeons and especially LitRPG you are going to love this book.

Loved it!
great story and narration!
the MC is a dungeon fairy who has the dream of having a dungeon of her very own. unfortunately she was born under a bad sign and has a lot of stigma from the other fairies. she has determination though is not about to give up on her dream. fairy shenanigans!!!
Miles does an excellent job of narration and really brings the characters to life.
I enjoyed this one and can't wait to find out what happens next!

Great spin for a Dungeon Core book
-This is a free copy review of the audiobook-
This book series is a great spin compared to a more "normal" dungeon core novel, instead of a reincarnated individual from Earth, a native person that died, a person without memories or other more mundane settings, in this book the MC is a person that has lots of theoretical knowlodge about dungeons, monsters and raiders. The MC is a dungeon assistant fairy that had passed with flying colors the DAPS as pratically the top student and with tons of theoretical knowlodge, if only for her birth circunstances, she'd be the perfect dungeon fairy. For some reason(not gonna write because it could spoil the series for the listeners), the dungeon coress that she's assigned all meet an unfortunate ending(the core's destruction). For that reason she's repeteadly being allocated to different cores, all of which are destroyed really quick too. One core however does something very different and she ends up dying and her soul sucked up into said core.
After that she has to try to build a dungeon(because being stuck in a little room not being able to do a thing gets boring, fast) her status is a bit different, she has status as both a dungeon core and a dungeon fairy assistant, with a timer to receive her EXP(forgot the exact term on this book, too lazy to search it) to level up being a LOT faster than a normal core. This advantage isn't without some problems though, both her max Fairy Mana and Dungeon Force are halved, also she can't use too much Dungeon Force in a brief period of time, if she does that, her core will suffer some cracks, this happens because something that shouldn't be done to cores was done to her core(like shoving a foreign soul in a dungeon core that wasn't meant to it in the first place).
In this first book it shows that and shows how Taka( the MC) builds her dungeon(along with a future dungeon fairy assistant that shows up later), with some differents strategies as to how she build her dungeon core.

Loved every second
Jonathan has opened up my eyes to the dungeon core litrpg books and I couldn’t be happier that he did. Becoming a big fan on his work and this book is def up there with them. I was really hooked on the story and did feel for the MC with her bad luck, which made it even more enjoyable when things changed for her. Have already started the second book, instantly when I finished this one. In my opinion, def worth giving this, as well as Jonathan’s other books, a listen.

A funny, exciting and rather different LitRPG.
I've listened to a lot of LitRpg books and this include quite a few dungeon core books but I admit this is the first one about a Fairy whose job it is to guide a dungeon core who is cursed with bad luck.
What begins as a fairly straight forward dungeon tale quickly shows Tacca Gloom Lilly (yes, clearly with that name she has little chance) is doomed when her initial core goes mad and kills itself. This is a prime opportunity for the fairy council who hate her for her bad luck and want her gone and leads to a major narrative twist but sadly this is nearly half-way through the book and it does feel a little late in the day for my liking but is still a great twist nonetheless.
Without oodles of action it would appear that the story would quickly get boring but the humour and cleverness of the plot do a great job of holding your interest and the author shows great restraint in holding back the numbers and stats which oftentimes LitRPGs can become drowned under.
So a somewhat mixed bag but I do feel that, without Miles Meili's brilliant narration and voice-work it may not be a recommend but he does a brilliant job of really bringing the story to life and making it far more accessible than it may have been otherwise.

Great start to new series
Ever wonder what it would be like if the dungeon core had knowledge of almost everything up front? Then wait no more and check out this series as Tacca, a dungeon fairy, get transformed into a core.

Excellent story
This is a pretty unique story that I really enjoyed. A nice spin on a dungeon core story that turned out to be interesting.
The narration was great and the voices he does were spot on. The flow was good and there wasn't any parts that felt too slow as far as I could hear I don't think. Yeh, would recommend.

Interesting new series.
Loved the concept of this series, and I'm looking forward to the next instalment. It is well characterised, and brought nicely to life by Miles's voice talents. If you've looked any of Jonathan's other works, it's a pretty good bet that you'll enjoy this one too, and if you've never tried his books, this is a good one to start with.

Great new take on dungeon core
A fantastic story with a diffrent feel and angle from most other dungeon core books I've read/listened to. I enjoyed the direction of the book and I am looking forward to book 2.

An enjoyable start to a series
When is a dungeon core not a dungeon core? Sorry no spoilers.
This is a good start to a new series, it creates a solid platform and hints at a larger background story that will no doubt arrive in the future.
Well read and not too stat heavy.
Worth a listen.

Fantastic
Amazing story, a unique look at the whole dungeon core experience. Probably the best book I've downloaded.
