Publisher's Summary

Experience the completed Earth Magic Rises trilogy. Bursting with magic, fairies, adventure, friendship, and love, this bundle contains all three titles by a USA Today and Amazon best-selling author: Bones of the Witch, Ashes of the Wise, and Heart of the Fae.

High in the hills of Scotland, an ancient evil has returned. One young woman struggling to master her magic is the only hope to stop it.

First, it is drums only she can hear, then a shadow only she can see. But the discovery of a mummified body entombed in an ancient wall and a young woman’s disappearance create a mystery Georjie is uniquely equipped to answer.

Teaming up with a handsome amateur historian, she uses her earth elemental gift to overturn secrets hidden deep in the soil. But never far from the trail of clues lurks a dark creature on the hunt for prey. As each clue is revealed, she learns more about her heritage and her own family history, revealing an uncomfortable link between herself and the wickedly alluring entity.

Can Georjie unravel the mystery to save innocent lives…and her own?

Take a roller coaster ride through time across dimensions and across the Scottish countryside. If you like strong heroines, dark sorcery, and medieval highland history, then you’ll love A.L. Knorr’s unforgettable teen fantasy adventure. Perfect for fans of Kelley Armstrong, Shannon Mayer, and Holly Black.

definitely young adult

the story isn't badly written, just presented in a formulaic style that you usually find in teen targeted novels. But the narration, ouch...this narrator clearly didn't bother to listen to any real Scottish accents and apparently thinks anyone from Scotland sounds little different from an Irish leprechaun, in search of his Lucky Charms.

To slow.

To slow. Went on forever. Didn't know if it would ever get to the action. We absolutely Loved the Siren book series but wish we hadn't taken the time to listen to this one. Was not one of her best series.

Read to preview for my granddaughter's library.

Great most of the way. Action, drama, and love are represented by Age-appropriate relationships nicely right up to the explanation of the drugged, rape and impregnating of the many mortal women, including girl's mother to produce offspring and populate. Uggh, why not make it magical?! Also, the author messed up some of the plot threads. ie) Can the girl magically free herself from bad things as the Fae Queen explains in training or not? Not bad, some issues for young readers.

Enter and stay awhile with the Fae

I loved the narrator. She enhanced the experience of an already great story.

This boxed set provided the convenience of binge listening to the trilogy of Earth Magic Rises. Bones of the Witch--Georjie leads the adventure in the Highlands with a double mystery from the past and one unfortunately happening in the present. She must harness her powers to win against unknown forces that isn't a guaranteed success. Ashes of the Wise--Georjie in advertently raises the stakes because of her powers ratcheting up the suspense in the continuation of the series. Good news is that the romance blossoms with Lachlan, and the duo are off to do what they can to right the wrongs. Heart of the Fae-- Georjie is faced with mounting dilemmas and daunting choices. A.L. Knorr doesn't disappoint with testing her characters' endurance and sense of purpose to reset the order of their worlds. As usual, great job!

This made me a groupie of the author&narrator

I have loved loved LOVED everything A.L. Knorr writes. I discovered her at the very beginning, when she was still in the process of writing the Elemental Origins series and ever since then I've been hooked. At the time of me writing this, Earth Magic Rises is one of the latest books Ms. Knorr released, but since I already finished it, I can't wait to get the next one.

Earth Magic Rises follows the Earth Elemental, Georjayna, who has recently discovered her powers as a Wise - she knows everything about plants and greenery, she can use them for good (or for evil, but she's not the type) and she keeps on discovering other nifty little tricks up her sleeve. Like being able to view the past that happened at a certain place through touching the ground of that place. In her Origins book, we get to know Georgie and what being a wise kinda means. In this series, we see her bloom! She discovers a lot about her heritage and the world she comes from and as a reader it has been a pleasure to discover that for her.

The books can be read stand-alone... although I don't understand why you would NOT want to know more than just one book.

The narrator is also amazing! She has done a previous series for Ms. Knorr and is in the process of recording the next series. This has given me the chance to really admire her work, because she really brought to life each character's personality and emotions. Calling her a "narrator" seems like understating what she did. It's more like masterpiece voice acting.

Listen to this book. You won't regret it!

Absolutely Addictive

I love this series. This is my second time reading it, and there will be a third. AL Knorr had this amazing ability to write absolutely un-put-downable books at a record pace.

I feel like I know Georgie (the main character) personally. She feels like an old friend. I hope to join her on other adventures in the future.

Georgie, a Wise (someone with the ability to see fairies and access magic in nature), receives an invitation to visit her family’s castle. Turns out they didn’t send the invitation. A mummified woman is found hidden inside a brick wall at a construction site. This woman escapes the morgue later and comes after Georgie, trying to steal her powers.

A good read!

This was a recommended read so I was on the fence but I’m glad I read it!

My pros: The storyline was very intriguing and I enjoyed the element of mystery that ran throughout the series. The first book especially had me feeling like this was a cool crime time fantasy and I was digging it! I also appreciated that none of the books felt like cliffhangers. They had solid endings that left you wanting more but didn’t make you feel cut off. I also loved her version of the fae world and the characters she had there. She did a fantastic job of weaving fantasy, mystery, and intrigue all together!

My cons: The MCs love story kind of just happened. I remember when she proclaimed her love I was like “ummm okay then.” LOL. I mean they meet and see each other from time to time and had one date but I don’t know if that qualified the MC to say “I’m in love!” It was a little jarring but I got over it.

Also, I felt like the MC should have been a character in her early 20’s. It made no sense for her to be a teenage HS senior especially with all the traveling, lack of school, and sex she was having. The narrator also read like an adult so every time the MCs age was mentioned it threw me off. It was a small annoyance that pulled me out of the story at times but nothing major.

On a nitpicking note: One thing that did really bug me to the point of not liking the MC was in the third book when her friend comes to visit. Her friend is clearly trying to tell her she is dealing with bullying and the MC just totally brushes off her friend like it’s no big deal / get over it, even though the whole series has been nothing but people checking in on the MC and her remarking on how great it is they are there for her. It really changed my view of the MC and stuck with me, so I wish the author had changed that. But again, just a nitpicky rant LOL.

OVERALL: great read and great narration! I hope the author writes another book so we can see how they all end up down the line. Especially since *SPOILER ALERT* there is a possibility of Margaret still being out there or returning (since we learned she also consumed a few Wise.)

Great story from a brilliant author

I loved reading the books and really enjoyed the audio books, but I really wish that those who do the readings would learn to speak English properly.
I must admit that the narrator Marni Penning was very good with only a few mispronounced words and she really brought the whole story to life.

If you have not listened to or read the books get the first one, before this box set, curl up in your favourite reading spot and read (or listen to) it.

A very enjoyable tale.

I was given a free copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.

Firstly I have to start with the narration. the for the most part Marni delivers a great performance. But her Scottish accent is not good. I rather she kept to her natural voice.

The trilogy itself, is very entertaining, a definite young adult kinda vibe to it but thoroughly enjoyable all the same. A. L. Knorr is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. The trilogy just compounds her talent for story telling that draws you in and keeps you very entertained.
