Publisher's Summary

The eighth realm, the unpassable realm.

The eighth realm doesn’t stand as a realm onto itself, but as a question.

Why do you fight?

Merely gaining levels and having a higher cultivation isn’t enough to pass the eighth realm’s test into the ninth realm. Find your truth, understand your reason; only then can you pass the eighth realm.

It might be Erik and Rugrat’s hardest challenge yet.

Narrator Review- Poor Choice

I started with the “included” Two Week Curse and was hooked. I am 50+ and have listened to mid-to- high hundreds of “audio” books and enjoyed Todd Menesses’ performance in the first 5 realms. No offense to Mr. Hellegers, but his tone shift and vocal separation of characters is poor, Really takes something away from the book. I still listen but with less enthusiasm. Hellegers been in the Two Week Curse I doubt I would have stuck with that first book much less the series. I keep hoping Todd will return. If step down was Menesses’ doing and not Chatfields, sorry but…
This book is better via audio than reading, about to loose a big fan Michael.

Review

Great one by Michael Chatfield. Love the story progression enjoy the narration. Neil Hellegers definitely elevated the audible experience. The only complaint I have about this audiobook it’s just so SHORT🤔. I feel as if there is at least another 5 or 6 hours missing. Hopefully this one is just a one off, and the next installment will be much longer.

Great but short...

A great addition to the 10 realms series but unfortunately it was much shorter than the other books. It was action-packed though!

great sequel

Eric and Rugrat seriously injured/broken was a disppoinent at the end of the last book but their road to recovery is one filled with excitement and lots of adventure. Dragon and Chimera afoot and what mysteries are there to the 10 realms that are about to be discovered?

Moving forward

I won’t like it took me a couple books to warm up to new narration. But in this book it clicked, the story moves along at a reasonable pace and while taking some troupe paths it’s still a very fun ride.

Cannot wait for the 9th relm book!

This has been another amazing add to the world of the 10 relms being built in the readers mind. I eagerly await the next book.

Epic!

I’ll be honest I was concerned with the length of the book and I’m so glad To see that that concern should not have mattered. Even with a shortened time in the book so much stuff happened it was very well written an extremely action pack! Great regression can’t wait to see what’s next!

Good book.

Another solid book in the ten realms series. I like how every battle that happens in this series feels tense. You are never sure if every member of the team will survive or not. Good job keep up the good work

Not great. Just milking it.

Story is now just random events. Getting worse ever book. No or little world-, magic-, character- or story development. Character feels so one dimensional with no interaction. Not sure if I will go on if this continues.

Brilliant!

A great development and a great follow up to the previous book. Fantastically narrated and very well written. My only complaint is that I wish there was more and I don’t want this series to end!!!

No flavor

There is no flavor text or world building just the bare bone story.
But what is there is quite good. It' just rushed and unfinished and I wished there was more of it.
And the narrator uses the same voice for many of the side characters so sometime It took me a sentence or two before I understood how was talking.

Why so long?

I love the story so far great characters with a unique story. But this book 10 took 8 months to release and is only 1/2 the length of the others in the series, hopefully the 9th realm doesn't take as long to be transcribed to a audiobook.

too short money grab

i dislike when authors split up books to make more money off them. the previous books were much better in terms of value for money. it costs us the same amount to buy a 30 hour book as it does to purchase a 9 hour short story. Drip feeding content is a joke. i'd prefer to wait for a whole release. very unfortunate and underhanded in my opinion. will wait for the next release, but won't be purchasing if under 15 hours. "part 1, part 2" we're only getting part of the story but paying the full price

other than that, the story itself is up to standard, if short

Far too short! Where is the rest?

At least it progressed the story line. I couldn’t help but feel disappointed at spending a credit on what is really only a novella.

Might as well stay the course.

Not bad. Not great. Enjoyable.
The two week curse got me into this genre of books so i do have a soft spot for it.
If your at book 9 your already in for the ride.
