Think fest

I really think that half or more of this book is Tolan thinking about what to do

I mean . . .

I forgot that i barely made it through the last books . . . the writing style is just so weird, and the narrator doesn't seem to understand where to place emphasis within a sentence. It comes off as having been badly translated from a foreign language and then read by someone equally confused by normal english inflection. Perhaps this is self published, but it needs a really good editing and a new narrator IMHO.
Do yourself a favor and listen to anything written by: Orson Scott Card, Michael G Manning, Shirtaloon, Melissa McPhail, OR narrated by Nick Podehl or Timoty Reynolds.

Still really like the story, but very restorative

This author always has a really good story with interesting themes and pretty good characters if not constantly unsure of themselves, makes them a bit annoying, but usually they turn out fine. I've listened to a couple different series and read reviews from others he's done. It seems like this is his schtick. His other thing that is classic fit his writing is that it's super repetitive to the point of almost making it difficult to listen to. Overall, while I think he could have made the story here a bit deeper and then made another book for the resolution, I like the ending in general.

A lot of repetitive sentences for my taste

Got through most the books and I enjoy the story But this one was really hard to get through. The narration is great but I feel like I'm on a ferries wheel with repeated information and descriptions.

Never Changes

If you want to read an entire series full of a main character Whoes only real skill is self doubt nsd personal loathing, then this is the book for you. The protagonist of this books only continues to live because the writer makes it so. This character is mediocrity at its finest, the only thing special about the character is that for some unexplained reason he gets continually lucky and just magically stumbles upon realizations just in the nick of time.....

Good listen..

Loved the book. The ending left me wanting more. The main characters doubts his abilities all the time, almost frustratingly. But even then he does come through. Ala in all good book! I would definitely recommend it.

wanting more

Can't wait for this world to continue, I'm totally engrossed in the series. I even tried to split it up so I wouldn't burn out but I couldn't pull myself away.

Good but Repeatative

The story established a new view on the source of magic, I had not read before. The story though repeated dialogue about character, magic and feelings way to much, without growth. This cause me to struggle finishing the book and the series.
