Publisher's Summary

Zombies. It was out in the open, that word that I had been avoiding for days. Now that it was out, there was no putting it back.

No one saw it coming. No one could have guessed that the vaccine that was supposed to save lives would take them, instead. Once the death toll started to climb, it took less than a day for the world to change forever.

When Bri's roommate suddenly develops a taste for cannibalism, she finds herself trapped in her upstairs bathroom, unable to comprehend the horrors that she sees through the small window. That limited view of the outside world doesn't begin to show Bri just how much danger she's going to be in when she finally escapes her home.

Running for her life, Bri won't be alone for long. With the help of a bat-wielding stranger, she barely escapes the overrun city. Together, they just might survive long enough to find a safe haven.

The zombie apocalypse is a strange time to be alive. The dead walk and eat the living, but they're not the most dangerous thing this new world has to offer. There are other survivors out there. And not all of them can be trusted.

Best Zombie Book

I’ve listened to a dozen zombie audio books and this one is my favorite. Most books have too much human-on-human fighting, and not enough zombie survival. Not all listeners care about survivors fighting/wars/guns/combat talk against other survivors. This book was a wonderful listen. Lots of zombie to human survival stuff. A+

hand down Good a zombie book

I have to say that I was kind of skeptically of liking this book or even giving it a chance. Lately I have been having bad luck with zombie books either the story is BOREDING or the Reader is bored and i just can't get into the book. This book is good I really really like the book and I hope that the author keeps writing zombie book and keeps the story going cause I am now a BIG FAN of Lora Powell Books.

Don’t bother

The protagonist was so terribly written that by the 4th chapter I was rooting for the zombies to give her a gruesome death. 20 chapters was all I could stand. I only lasted that long because my wife and I enjoyed making fun of the book. Don’t waste your money. It’s beyond terrible.

No. Just NO!

OMG this narrator is So boring!!! I’ve tried three times to get through this book, it is IMPOSSIBLE!!! I couldn’t begin to tell you what this book is about. Besides, there’s zombies. This may very well be a very good book, but I can’t get past the narrators voice.

Fun Debut Novel

TF3D is a good first effort by Lora Powell. Fiona Small's narration of the Audible version is excellent. The story follows the expected plot line for zompoc fiction but keeps it fresh by focusing on a few characters as they try to navigate the initial outbreak and survive afterward. I really enjoyed that the main character, Bri, is not a super soldier survivalist before the outbreak, nor does she suddenly become one after (as in so many similar works). She is more likely to run and hide than to come up with some GI Jane attack when faced with danger. This makes for some great and believable sequences where she is just trying to survive and we, the readers, are right there with her. Over time, Bri finds others who try to band together and get someplace safe. A sub plot of an attraction develops between Bri and one of the other characters but I liked that it built slowly and both are more focused on staying alive than romance. The zombies are great and unrelenting as they should be. Later on in the book there are some cartoon bad guys who seem to show up just to keep things exciting. Luckily, the focus largely remains on Bri's POV during these encounters so there isn't a lot of expansion on why they seem to wander around the wasteland, doing evil deeds, with no worries about the zombies. Also, there are some mixed metaphors in the text that another edit screening probably would have helped. Overall a fun and entertaining book.

Who needs weapons in a ZA..in America

I cannot believe that adults would act this braindead. Rural America has more guns than any place in the world and the main characters spend 6 hours with 1 bat and a knife. They didn't even make spears in a outdoor center in the woods. Search a police station? search houses for shotguns? machetes ? A chair gets more action in this book than any melee weapon. It feels like this universe has zero zombie movies and books.

Enjoyed it immensely

I really liked the way Lora Powell put the story together. The heroine of the story is a great character and her development is enjoyable to follow. If the author chooses to write another in a series, I will purchase as soon as it comes out. There are other mini stories and I plan to read those as well.

I liked it

it's a simple zombie apocalypse book, but I enjoyed it a lot, it was very good at describing things in detail without making it 30 hours to listen to. the characters were very likeable too

Meh…

It’s a basic zombie story narrated by Cat Valentine. At this point I haven’t been able to get day 10 or 11. Maybe it gets better?

Ok

Now, I am a big fan of Zombie books and I feel that I have exhausted the best out there. Though this book kept me entertained, I do have issues with it!
The narrator made the protagonist sound so pathetic. Many a times I rolled my eyes at her voice.
The attention to detail was also lacking, for example, if one is living through an apocalypse surely you would pick up the weapons your enemies have dropped 🤷🏾‍♀️.
I don’t know, if I could slap a book, this is one I would slap!

Worth a listen

It’s well written and has a good pace to keep you interested, the only downside is toward the end of the book where it kinda gets rushed and some bits aren’t really explained or skipped over .

I’d certainly read another book in the series though if there was one

Entertaining

I enjoyed this action packed book, it was filled with nerve wracking tension, making the fear and horror of the characters palpable. I really liked Brie and Sean, two ordinary people who manage to not only survive but find surprising hidden depths, and in Brie's case, leadership skills. I hope theres a follow up, I really want to know whats next for them. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Dull Colourless and Boring

Idea sounded good but there is no character development in this book. Theres a very weak plot that the one dimensional characters wade torpidly through. Poor stuff, give it a miss or hope the author gets a better editor
