After his town is put to the sword and the children are taken to replace the fallen, an old man is out for revenge. He’s ready to fail at the most difficult challenge in the world: cultivation. Too corrupted to even take the first steps, the sly old elder simply agreed with those who told him that it was impossible. I just can’t finish this, let’s have breakfast
This series started off well. Everything is so dramatic and over the top. If he ate breakfast it would be: “Griff lifted the spoon with a Herculean power that dwarfed any other use of a breakfast utensil. The Cheerios each weighed more than planets. They exploded in his mouth, and he knew he could die, but he bravely moved forwards and began to chew with a mighty struggle that went on for eternity, and yet only lasted a microsecond. Not all the forces of General Mills food corporation could stop his ceaseless struggle to swallow. But suddenly, he knew the milk was past its sell date, and he despaired in a despair that was all encompassingly despairing and required 10 minutes of exposition because of the despair. Pain exploded, as the celestial spoon clicked against his teeth, but he had done it. He had eaten a bit of cereal. Griff’s vision went dark, and he knew no more”

Listen to the rest first. A great story
I’ll be honest I picked this one up without having read the other four first. My foolish mistake. Now that being said I enjoyed it immensely. Now liken my experience to watching return of the Jedi without having seen any other Star Wars movie. Great characters but with relationships and powers and intricacies of personalities that I was totally clueless about. Still highly enjoyable but I just know it would have been better with the prior four books knowledge. That being said there are great quests, godlike abilities, leveling trees, powers and gear that just rock and would make any d&d group drool to find in a drop. Enjoy the book But please only after listening to the rest. It will be worth the wait.

Great LITRPG Sequel
The fate of this universe literally rests on the outcome of the actions of Griff and his team.
If I could describe this one, it's a whole a big dollop of Ready Player One, a pinch of Sword Art Online.
If you watch Anime, then this book is for you, similarity between this and of the Sword Art Online is very close with Griffs Drive to protect his friends and the world at large from a the greatest threat he could of ever feared.
The Twists and turn throughout the book will keep you on edge and will keep you listening well untill the early hours of the morning.
The Endig ro this book will have to Screaming and thrusting for more.
Overall I would say this newest edition to the saga was well worth the wait and cannot wait for the 6th.
As Always A Loyal Fan CM Carney, Look forward to the rest.
