Publisher's Summary

They are the Season sisters, bound by blood, driven apart by a tragedy. Now they are about to embark on a bittersweet journey into the unknown — an odyssey of promise and forgiveness, of loss and rediscovery.

Jillian, Beatrice and Rose have gathered for the funeral of their younger sister, Meredith. Her death, and the legacy she leaves them, will trigger a cross-country journey in search of a stranger with the power to mend their shattered lives. As the emotions of the past reverberate into the present, Jillian, Beatrice, and Rose search for the girls they once were, in hopes of finding what they really lost: the women they were meant to be.

Big Disappointment

I have read/listened to almost every book Mary Alice Monroe has written. This book, especially the audible version, is very disappointing. The narration is very whiny. I love her books with a smooth southern accent on the part of the reader. This book has characters that sound like whiny children. There isn't a single character with an adult voice that sounds reasonable and relatable. Even the sister that is the doctor is difficult to relate to as an intelligent person with her child like whiny voice. I have never returned an audible book but this one is going back.

Best So Far

This is the best Mary Alice Monroe I have read so far. Most have been a light tip-toe through the tulips but not this one. She really gets deep in to some great characters. The death of one sister just totally tips the apple cart for the other three. Each one for a different reason and following these sisters and their reason was a great treat. This will be one of 'those' books that I will listen to more than once!

Great story!

I normally read nonfiction but was really drawn in by this story. I can see this being a movie.

The ending left some things out for me

This was a great story and beautifully told. But I wanted to know how EVERY ONE else felt about finding Spring. I don't want to say more to give anything away. But it ended when there was more to be told.

Good story..

But not one of the authors best. You can see she evolved in later years but still worth listening to, and heartwarming. The narrator though..what a horrible choice!! She needs a new career path. She made everyone sound like cartoon characters and really detracted from a good story.
