Publisher's Summary

It's a blindingly hot summer. International visitors surge into Sydney's Darling Harbour. Two-year-old Tommy is sailing his toy boat in the park there with his mother Phoebe. Tommy vanishes into thin air. The following winter, taunting notes written as nursery rhymes begin arriving at his parents' home.

Little Boy Blue, where did you go? Who led you away? Only I know...

The police believe the messages are just a cruel prank. But Phoebe becomes obsessed with tracking down the writer of the rhymes. Her marriage ends up shattering.

When the shocking identity of the writer is discovered, Phoebe's desperate race for the truth has only just begun.

Lacked emotion.

Some of the story really drug on and was irrelevant fill. I felt the main character was just a whiny, self absorbed person lacking in the emotion expected from having your son kidnapped. The last few chapters got better, but there were several times where I was going to stop listening. Glad the ending was better than the middle.

Love this author

Just like my previous experience with Annie Taylor, she kept me guessing until the very end with so many fun and riveting possibilities! I found myself on my long commute to work yelling at the characters. There was never a time through the day, where I wasn’t thinking “can I listen to my audiobook right now?”. I can’t wait to experience more from this in-depth author.

Twist and turns all the way! Hold on for the ride!

It goes to show, you never truly know those closest to you. Sometimes you don't even know yourself.

Hard to stop listening!

A little slow in places but wanted to hear everything! I had so many suspects but there was one I had a feeling would not be what I thought! Many layers to the story and many mysteries in the story. I loved it and got nothing done until I finished. Great listen!

Mind Blowing

I could not stop listening once I started. I thought the mother was going insane. Legitimately, was not on team phoebe. Maybe I missed the part about her friend "kitty" being nicknames by Luke. Totally not what I expected. Great book.

so bad it's good

this was preposterous, with about 6 plot holes covered with "had i forgotten?' or leaps of coincidences that stretched the fabric of probabilities. i finished it only bc i had to see how ridiculous it would get and by golly i was not let down. That's why it wasn't a 1 star review. the nonsense was consistent from cover to cover.

Wow!

This book will keep you hooked to the end. There were some sad parts to get through, but it had a fantastic ending! Not your typical conclusion to a psychological, suspense novel. Loved it!

Tough Going.

Great narrator, but the book only gets going in the last few chapters. So not a winner for me.

just a bit odd

the story was OK, the ending was far fetched and in the middle there was a pointless and unrelated side story that wasn't needed.

So much filler

I thought the book and the story were fine, but there is so much filler! The book could’ve been about half as long and still had the same story. The middle section of the book went on for way too long! The performance was great though.

Slow start, wouldn't recommend to a friend.

I didn't find the characters relatable, and when the story finally got going I thought it was unrealistic.

Poor narration.

Limped through to halfway. The narration was forced and trying too hard, shame as the story itself was good.

Brilliant plot twist at the end

loved the plot twists at the end, the villain was definitely unexpected, however drags a little through the middle, although worth preserving for the ending.
