More suited for teenagers
There is so much stuff wrong about the CIA in this book that I don't know where to begin. I am pretty sure even middle schoolers could see through it (though I am not suggesting kids should read this). It appears there was very little research done in that area. I waded through all three books since I bought them as a box set but it sure was hard. I kind of liked the idea of the female character being good at her job but became hard to believe after a while. Being hired out of an orphan background was believable but most of the stuff was just down right not true about how the CIA operates. The performance was pretty bad too. Half the time you did not know who really was talking. After a while, the narrator would use the wrong tone and accent for one speaking - pretty messy all around. I don't care for the CIA personally. I believe they are a tool used by our leaders to do their own personal will internationally. I don't believe there is anything actually noble about their agenda. Even if so, they would be offended at how they are portrayed here.

I really tried
I really tried to like this series but I couldn't finish it. it's not enough spy, espionage, and killing. it's more like a high school romance series. For the characters being "CIA" they are very immature. I just can't finish it and I rarely drop a book when started.

Adolescent
I love mysteries, thrillers, science fiction, pretty much all genre....for ADULT readers! This series would make high school age readers gag! The CIA heroine is full of angst, falls for a milquetoast civilian and their interactions fall between grade school and immature junior high antics. Most of the books had to do with their relationship and not the ‘mission’! Making it even worse is the boyfriend ends up going on missions with her even though his only training is in IT. His only qualification is he is her boyfriend. On the mission, he questions pretty much everything thing she does to get the job done! Don’t waste a credit unless you’re into poorly written romance novels with brief periods of comic book action.

Gawd help us if these are the best of the best
While well-written and skillfully narrated, the characterisation of CIA operations in this series is farcical, and the relationships best described as school-girlish. No matter how hard I tried, - and I did make it through most of the books - I just could not suspend my disbelief. Not one of characters felt real to me.
That's not to say others will not enjoy this book. I suspect it was intended as more "Mills and Boons" than "Tom Clancy." I'm sure there is a market for this.
